The Informatics and Analytics team supports data-driven decision-making at BPHC by processing, analyzing,
and communicating public health data. The team - comprising data analysts, epidemiologists, and GIS
specialist - develops dashboards, reports, and tools for tracking disease trends, evaluate programs, and inform
public health actions. Using platforms such as R/Python, PowerBI, and ArcGIS, we ensure accurate, timely, and
accessible insights for stakeholders. We are also responsible for promoting data literacy and assisting with
system interoperability. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Data Analyst Intern to support our public health informatics
team. The intern will assist in collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing health data to inform decisionmaking and improve community outcomes. Key responsibilities include developing reports and dashboards,
conducting exploratory data analysis, and supporting data quality checks. The ideal candidate should be
proficient in tools such as Excel, R, Python, and/or PowerBI, and possess strong analytical and communication

- Works to help BPHC advance as an antiracist organization by meeting or exceeding the standards set by the BPHC AntiRacism Policy.
- Clean, organize, and analyze public health datasets using R and Python.
- Develop dashboards and reports to communicate key insights to stakeholders using PowerBI.
- Perform exploratory and statistical analyses to support data-driven decisions improvement.
- Assist with data validation, documentation, and quality assurance processes.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the role of public health in addressing racism, the social
determinants of health, and inequities in health outcomes as well as strategies to advance racial justice and
health equity. - Commitment to health equity and racial/social justice issues.
- Minimum qualifications include current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree in Data
Science/Analytics/Informatics, Statistics, Public Health, Computer Science, or a related field. Candidates should
have foundational skills in data analysis using tools such as Excel, R, Python, and/or PowerBI, along with a
basic understanding of data cleaning, visualization, and statistical methods. Strong attention to detail, critical
thinking, and effective communication skills are essential for interpreting data and presenting findings clearly.
The ideal candidate is curious, collaborative, and eager to apply analytical techniques to real-world public
health challenges.
