WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Principal AI/Data Scientist is responsible for leading the development and deployment of innovative enterprise AI/ML solutions designed to address Tealium’s vision for AI enablement in our products. As a pivotal leader within the team, you'll guide and mentor talented colleagues specializing in AI (both traditional and LLM), DevOps, and Solution Architecture. You'll spearhead critical projects while driving the development of new core solutions. You will work closely with product and customers, paired with your expertise and strategic vision, to shape the future direction of our technology and solutions.   

Tech Stack:

AI/ML Experiences: Binary and Multi-Class Classification, LLM (text, image, voice, etc.), Feature Engineering, Prompt Management, Model Deployment for Batch as well as Real-time Scoring.     

Languages: Python, SQL, Java

AI Frameworks: Azure, GCP, H2O, AWS, Bedrock, Databricks 

AWS Services: EC2, ECS, S3, EKS, EMR (and glue), Lambdas, step functions, MSK, Kinesis, Bedrock 

Databricks Services: Databricks, PySpark, ML Flow, Model Serving API, Model Monitoring 

DB: Dynamo, Redshift, Postgres, Redis, GraphDB

Services: Telepresens, Jenkins, Datadog, Sumologic, Jfrog, Testrail

YOUR DAY TO DAY

  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership, Engineers, Architects, DevOps engineers, Product, Customers.

  • Design and propose solutions, align solutions to strategic vision and customer problems. 

  • Participate in operational- and production-related discussions.

  • Lead architectural, technical and code reviews.

  • Ensure high-quality coding and solution standards across the team.

  • Guide adoption and investigation of new technologies against business requirements.

  • Participate in Agile/SCRUM process.

WHAT YOU BRING TO TEALIUM

  • MS or Phd in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related STEM discipline

  • 10+ years of professional experience in AI/ML model (LLM, Catboost, XGBoost, LightGBM, etc.) building, validating, and scoring; customer focused mindset for prototyping and designing solutions; drive buy-in discussions; and lead production deployment.

  • Expertise in customer data analysis, extracting insights from large data sets to align solutions with business use cases, and drive discovery discussions.

  • Experience with designing and supporting solutions for high-traffic and complex data business use cases, such as ecommerce, marketing, call centers, and customer service.    

  • Expertise in software engineering (Python and Java) and write production ready code

  • The ability to effectively design and explain technical solutions to team members, architects and leadership

  • Be able to analyze technical, product and platform trade-offs 

  • Extensive experience deploying AI/ML solutions to a cloud platform environment; AWS, GCP, Azure, Databricks

  • Docker, Kubernetes, Serverless, Terraform expertise

  • Experience with DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, Mysql, RedshiftDB, Redis, Cassandra, Snowflake, GraphDB

  • Strong communication skills

WAGE TRANSPARENCY

 In many U.S. states, employers are required to include a pay range for posted positions. Although this isn't a requirement in every state, communicating transparently is a cornerstone of our operations at Tealium, and we believe in making this information available to all applicants.

The U.S. pay range for this full-time position is listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is eligible for a robust benefits package that includes the following:

  • Employees are eligible to receive an annual bonus and stock options. 

  • Employees and their families are eligible for medical, dental, vision,  life, and disability insurance. 

  • Employees have the option to enroll in our 401k plan and are eligible to receive contributions for company matching.

  • Employees are eligible for flexible paid time-off and extended paid parental leave. 

  • We offer 11 paid holidays annually.

  • We offer 15 hours of paid work time for volunteer activities and programs. 

  • Our sick leave accrual is the following for our employees:

    • Exempt CA employees (not including San Francisco) including NY : accrue 40 hours each year. Unused sick leave carries over into the next year. Employees cannot exceed 80 hours in a given year.

    • Exempt Non - CA employees (not including NY) including SF: Accrue 1 hour every 30 hours worked. Cannot exceed 180 hours in the calendar year.

    • Non-Exempt: accrue 1 hour every 30 hours worked. Unused carries over to the next year. Not to exceed 108 hours in a calendar year.

Compensation Range - $170,000 - $190,000 Base + Variable
