Reporting into Repsol’s Gas and Trading North America (GTNA) team, we are looking for someone to join an actively growing US gas and power team.  For the right person, this is an opportunity to join a team in its early development and take ownership of a key role supporting this new business.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyze power market data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies  

  • Develop and maintain power analytics to support gas and power teams with focus on value creation

  • Build and maintain fundamental and quantitative trading models

  • Support the development of trading strategies

  • Collaborate with other analysts to deliver timely alerts of critical market information to gas and power teams

  • Work with risk to ensure compliance with agreed upon risk management metrics and sizing

  • Learn proprietary methodologies and trading systems that support a developing trading business

  • Further responsibilities may be driven by the individual’s interests and specific skills

Job Requirements:

  • Eligible to work in the USA for any employer without sponsorship.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

  • Experience with power in financials, virtual trading, FTRs and CTRs

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience

  • Self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit and strong focus on delivering results-oriented analysis

  • Able to learn quickly in a fast paced, high-pressure environment.

  • ISO knowledge and fundamental understanding of power grid  

  • Targeted ISO experience and knowledge of fundamental grid

  • Detail oriented, organized, and diligent

  • Maintain composure and communicate clearly when under pressure.

  • Strong understanding of math, probability, and statistics

  • High level of proficiency in Excel and VBA; further experience with SQL, python, statistical modeling, and HTTP-based APIs (other programming and/or machine learning a plus)  

  • Experience with automation technologies such as Power Automate and Automation Anywhere is a plus

  • Advanced aptitude for problem solving and multitasking
