ABOUT THE ROLE
Fuelled by a recent $20M Series B funding round and consistent triple-digit year-over-year growth, Ovoko is gearing up to redefine its approach to Data & Analytics. To lead this effort, we’ve brought on a new VP of Data with a track record of building the data function at companies such as Typeform, Preply, and Moonpay.
With a vision to scale our team, infrastructure, and processes, we’re doubling the size of our data team and are actively hiring for a variety of key roles, including senior management, data engineering, analytics engineering, and analytics specialists across marketing, product, business strategy, and operations.

You will work closely with Analytics Engineering and Infrastructure teams to ensure efficient data pipelines, scalable data processing, solid engineering best practices, and high-quality data availability for decision-making and Machine Learning.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL

• Build & Maintain Scalable Data Pipelines within our Streaming Infrastructure. Design, develop, and optimize processes to ingest, transform, and deliver data from multiple sources;
• Optimize Data Storage, Processing, and Retrieval. Improve efficiency and performance to meet increasing analytical and operational demands.
• Ensure Data Quality & Reliability. Implement monitoring, testing, and alerting mechanisms to maintain data integrity, consistency, and accuracy;
• Collaborate with Infrastructure and DevOps teams to scale our on-premises data architecture while ensuring the highest standards of data reliability and availability;
• Support ML Ops & Data Science. Enabling model deployment, feature engineering, and monitoring.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Solid understanding of hybrid data platform architectures, with practical experience working with modern cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks;
• Proficiency in streaming and distributed processing (Apache Kafka, Flink, Spark, Python);
• Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration and scalability;
• Experience with data pipeline orchestration (e.g., Apache Airflow, Dagster);
• Linux Administration Skills;
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for data workflows.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience scaling a similar infrastructure in a fast-paced tech environment;
• Experience with data lakes and storage formats (e.g., Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, Hudi, Parquet, Avro, ORC);
• Knowledge of ML Ops (model deployment, monitoring, Feature Stores);
• Knowledge of Scala, Rust and/or Go;
• Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.

SALARY
The offered salary range for this position starts from €5000 (gross) per month. Please keep in mind that we are also open to discussing your salary expectations based on your competencies and experience.
