About Inizio Medical
Inizio Medical is part of Inizio, the world’s leading healthcare and communications group. We are a trusted partner to pharmaceutical and healthcare clients, translating complex science into meaningful impact. Our division focuses on evidence-based communications and education for healthcare professionals and payers.

About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on, production-minded AI Engineer to join our growing AI team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and deploy generative AI and LLM-based applications at scale. You’ll work closely with software engineers, data scientists, and product teams to bring advanced AI capabilities into real-world healthcare and life sciences applications.

You’ll be at the forefront of deploying agentic AI frameworks and LLM-powered features into production systems, designing AI infrastructure, and establishing best-in-class MLOps and LLMOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, deploy, and maintain scalable AI services and infrastructure using cloud-native tools (Azure and AWS preferred).
  • Develop robust backend systems and APIs to support AI workflows and inference pipelines
  • Integrate with third-party LLM APIs and manage usage, rate limits, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Optimise AI prompting strategies, including chaining, templating, output post-processing and future model output validation.
  • Implement modular AI workflows with orchestration logic for latency, cost, and reliability.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Airflow, Databricks Jobs).
  • Ensure best practices in model tracking, versioning, performance monitoring, logging, and retraining workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical delivery with business and product goals.
  • Drive performance and cost optimisation for all AI systems.
  • Document processes for a range of audiences
  • Contribute to a collaborative, low-ego, high-performance engineering culture.

About You

  • Strong background in software engineering and production-grade systems.
  • Expertise in Python (both backend and AI/ML use cases).
  • Experience designing, building, and deploying LLM-powered applications in production.
  • Familiarity with transformer architectures and practical handling of LLM context, prompt chaining, and prompt engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with MLOps tools like MLflow, Weights & Biases, and orchestration platforms like Kubeflow or Databricks.
  • Deep understanding of cloud platforms (especially Azure and AWS), containers, microservices, and event-driven architecture.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, including debugging AI pipelines and multi-model systems.
  • Experience with version control and model versioning protocols.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in Agile/Scrum environments and drive iterative delivery.
  • Comfortable working independently as well as mentoring others in best practices.
  • Enthusiastic about improving human health and performance through cutting-edge AI.

Preferable experience:

  • Experience with Databricks MLOps and model registry tools.
  • Experience fine-tuning LLMs.
  • Background in agentic AI frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI).
  • Contributions to relevant open-source projects.
  • Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry.

What We Offer

Competitive salary and benefits package, including private medical insurance and company pension.

Flexible, remote-first working environment with occasional travel.

The opportunity to work on cutting-edge, impactful AI projects within a global leader in healthcare communications.

A friendly and informal culture that values curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning.
