Data Scientist with Executive Management Skills

Vall d’Hebron Institute of Research (VHIR) is a public sector institution which promotes research and innovation.

Within VHIR there are several clinical research groups.

We are looking for a Data Scientist with Executive Management Skills.

We are looking for a professional who is responsible and accountable for managing, ensuring the quality and governance of organizational data, while also being capable of analyzing data to generate insights and support data-driven decision-making.

Education and qualifications:

• Proven experience in data management, data governance or ETL processes.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational/non-relational databases.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools: advanced excel, Python or R.
• Proficiency in Spanish/Catalan (C2) and English (B2/C1) at least.

• Executive Management skills and excellent interpersonal relations.
• Communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.
• Proactive attitude and ability to work independently and within a team.

Experience and knowledge:

• Data Scientist experience.
• Managing databases and ensuring data integrity, security and availability.
• Implement and oversee data governance policies: quality, traceability, access and control.
• Standardize and document data collection, storage and transformation processes.
• Analyze datasets to extract actionable insights.
• Ability to create and design high-quality presentations.
• Knowledge and experience of working with R.
• Knowledge of Windows office package, internet, and medical databases.
• Organized and methodological person.

• Organizational skills.
• Multi-skilled person and motivated to project management.
• Knowledge of budgeting and financial principals.
• Communication skills.

 Main responsibilities and duties:

• Manage databases, ensure data integrity, security and availability.
• Analyzing data to generate insights and support.
• Executive preparation of documents and presentations.
• Maintenance of physical and digital archives.
• Efficient management of databases and patient/healthcare professional databases
• Clinical data entry.

Labour conditions:

• Full-time position: 40h/week
• Starting date: June 16, 2025
• Length of the contract: 6 month period renewable
• Gross annual salary according to professional category by VHIR: 26,000€
