The Procurement Services Supervisor leads a high-performing team responsible for executing complex, strategic procurement operations in support of Shaw’s global sourcing objectives. This role combines team leadership with hands-on operational oversight and strategic insight. The Supervisor will play a pivotal role in enhancing the performance of procurement systems, optimizing spend, and ensuring compliance across multiple procurement channels.
Reporting to the Procurement Operations Manager, the Procurement Services Supervisor acts as a strategic liaison between internal stakeholders, sourcing category leaders, and procurement operations. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of end-to-end procurement, strong data acumen, exceptional leadership capabilities and the ability to drive operational excellence through cross-functional collaboration and continuous process improvement in a fast-paced environment characterized by rapid change.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, coach, and develop a team of Procurement Services Representatives, ensuring individual and team goals align with organizational procurement strategies.
Establish performance standards and mentor team members in procurement best practices, issue resolution, and stakeholder engagement.
Create a high-performance culture focused on accountability, customer service, and continuous improvement.
Proactively manage resource planning, training, and workload balancing to meet evolving business needs.
Procurement Strategy Execution
Own the execution of transactional procurement processes tied to global sourcing strategies and as directed by Procurement Operations leadership, including complex PO creation, match exception resolution, and item maintenance with minimal supervision.
Partner with business partners and global sourcing leadership to support sourcing events (e.g., RFPs, contract transitions) and procurement project management.
Provide insight on the impact to the Procurement Operations Representatives for strategic initiatives involving supplier transitions, systems enhancements, or policy shifts and communicate such changes to the team.
Act as an escalation point for resolutions for suppliers and internal business partners.
Compliance & Risk Management
Monitor and enforce compliance with procurement policies, including PR approval flows, sourced spend compliance, and sourced supplier utilization.
Conduct regular audits and leverage analytics to identify compliance gaps and recommend mitigation strategies.
Maintain and evolve internal documentation, training materials, and SOPs to reflect policy or system updates.
Data-Driven Performance Management
Identify, recommend, and implement enhancements to procurement systems and tools, ensuring high levels of data integrity, automation, and user adoption.
Leverage technologies such as ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft), dashboards, and AI tools to improve operational outcomes.
Ensure effective integration between sourcing strategies and transactional execution.
Data Analytics & Reporting
Develop and maintain operational dashboards and metrics to monitor performance, compliance, and spend.
Perform root cause analysis on procurement delays or inefficiencies and drive corrective actions.
Collaborate with Finance and Strategy teams to support budgeting and forecasting efforts.
Process Innovation & Technology Enablement
Drive continuous improvement of transactional procurement workflows to enhance automation, accuracy, and efficiency.
Serve as a system power user and support adoption of digital tools including AI platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot).
Collaborate with IT, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to support procurement system enhancements and implementations.
Cross-Functional Stakeholder Engagement
Build effective working relationships with senior stakeholders, suppliers, and cross-functional partners across all leadership levels, acting as a trusted advisor for procurement operations.
Change Leadership & Ambiguity Management
Navigate shifting priorities and organizational change by providing stability, clarity, and direction to the team.
Lead change management initiatives that improve procurement maturity, stakeholder alignment, and employee readiness.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration or related field and 2-4 years of supply chain experience strongly preferred. HS Diploma and 7-10 years of supply chain experience can be considered.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or equivalent programs.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams through change, drive compliance, and optimize complex operational processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
2 years operating in a leadership capacity strongly preferred with strong desire for individual growth as well as developing talent within the team.
Experience working in large, matrixed, or global organizations.
Familiarity with procurement AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Shaw GPT).
Professional certification (CPSM, CIPP, or PMP).
