The Sr. Insights Analyst - Credit Risk provides stakeholders and executives with analytics and automation support related to credit risk management. This position will participate in all phases of the analytics lifecycle, including specifying data capture requirements, preparing and cleansing data, analyzing patterns and trends in structured and unstructured data that spans across all facets of the Enterprise, and synthesizing findings into presentations that convey insights and recommendations through storytelling, while maintaining a balance between the big picture and mastery of details. The ideal candidate will have a passion for using the power of data and technology to drive best-in-class risk management practices and outcomes within credit related functions, processes, and controls.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the identification of analytics and automation opportunities within the Credit Review function and credit-related processes and controls in business segments.
- Developed Data & Analytics routines (SQL, SAS Enterprise Guide, Oracle, IBM DB2, VBA, Snowflake, Tableau, Excel) to assess risk, analyze impacts, and implement risk control testing such as full-population, bulk data testing, real-time exception monitoring.
- Apply visualization techniques to internal and external data sources to make accurate and actionable analyses in a timely fashion.
- Create self-service dashboards for internal business partners to learn, understand, have access to, and derive insights from data, metrics, and KPIs.
- Be a partner in the building of internal department KPIs, KRIs and metrics.
- Ability to document, dashboard, or process function lineage through the form of job aids and/or guides.
- Lead and execute analytics projects in response to business needs, typically complex and high visibility assignments.
- Apply automation techniques to manual processes to create efficiency, improve accuracy, and drive self-service utilization/consumption of data.
- Work with management to develop and apply effective risk management processes and controls, specifically within credit risk management functions.
- Build trusted relationships with credit leaders and stakeholders, including credit data and reporting teams.
- Present results and work status updates to credit leaders and stakeholders.
- Participate in corporate committees and working groups, as needed.
- Oversee and mentor other colleagues, as needed.
- Champion corporate policies and procedures, including credit policies and standards.
- Promote compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 10 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in a business or technical field, emphasis on analytics and statistics
- Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
- Effective communicator (written and verbal)
- Proficiency with Python, R, SAS, or related languages for reporting and data analysis
- Ability to work independently and as part of cross-functional teams
- Can manage competing priorities and deliver high quality work in a timely fashion
- Experience leading and mentoring other colleagues
- Familiarity with the banking industry and risk management concepts
- Passion for continuous learning and development
