Data Scientist

The NISC IV Training Group (NTG) within the Leidos Digital Modernization group is looking for an experienced Data Scientist. Support is required to assist with expediting data integration through data cleaning, data pipelining, and data enrichment.  Support ensures the enhancement of FAA integrated data sets such as Continued Safety Operations (COS), Oversight, Certification and Validation Issues.

Primary Responsibilities

• Create end-to-end pipeline workflows from data sources to final outputs, including ingesting, cleaning, transforming, and blending data from multiple sources such as databases, spreadsheets and cloud services. 
• Conduct data integration and analysis of geospatial information, time-series data, developing machine learning models and/or deploying predictive modeling; all to uncover insights and drive business decisions.
• Develop integrated ontologies to model data relationships and entities.
• Manage the creation of big data technologies in conjunction with utilizing information analysis tools such as Jupyter Notebooks, Hadoop, Spark, PySpark, SPSS, R, Python, Palantir Foundry Contour, Fusion or Quiver and to develop appropriate algorithms and artificial intelligence to analyze the data.
• Create highly customized operational applications and interactive dashboards using tools such as Palantir Foundry Slate, Workshop, or, Tableau, Microsoft PowerBI or others.

Basic Qualifications

• BS degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Engineering and 4 to 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 to 6 years of prior relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of Software development lifecycle.
• Excellent communication, documentation and presentation skills.
• Ability to analyze structured and unstructured data from data sources, mobile devices, NoSQL data systems, cloud, and the related query and analysis tools.
• Experience analyzing complex data sets and creating dashboards and visualization to find trends and patterns in data.
• Solid understanding of Agile Project Management methodologies.
• Experience with version controls, schema checks and health monitoring through applications such as Palantir Foundry Pipeline Builder, Pyspark, Alteryx, AWS Glue, or others. 
• Experience creating highly customized operational applications and interactive dashboards using tools such as Palantir Foundry Slate, Workshop, or, Tableau, Microsoft PowerBI or others.
• integrating ontologies with semantic layers to transform complex datasets into comprehensible business concepts.  This experience could be through applications such as Palantir Foundry Ontology Manager, Stardog, Anzo, Graph DB, or others.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with the FAA or other federal agencies.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00
