Data Governance Lead Analyst

ABOUT THE JOB (JOB BRIEF): Under some supervision, the Analyst is primarily responsible for procedure executions that underpin our data governance standards and practices. 

Success criteria include: timely and effective handling of requests, thoroughness, and accuracy; developing a “client ready” work product; and collaboration with the team, technology partners.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Executing procedures to ensure documented objectives are met, processes are followed, and risks are mitigated within a defined framework or system.    

• Developing the end-to-end detailed documentation of business processes that support the implementation of data governance standards.  

• Develop and maintain a centralized inventory of documented processes, process owners, and governance workflows to support enterprise transparency and audit readiness.  

• Create and maintain high-quality process flows, swim lane diagrams, and step-by-step procedures.  

• Facilitate discovery sessions with cross-functional stakeholders to capture current state (“as-is”) processes and develop future state (“to-be”) recommendations that support governance goals and operational efficiency.  

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Risk Management, Business Management, Data Governance, Finance, or Management Information Systems, with at least 3 years of experience.  

• Communication: Basic written and verbal communication skills; may possess ability to cohesively present and organize information in support of findings; Building confidence in communicating a message; Can tell a compelling story with data and information; Possesses emerging presentation development and delivery skills

• Critical Thinking / Problem Solving: Demonstrates critical thinking; Can translate data and answer the “why” question; Starting to understand impacts / intersections with others

• Leadership: Able to work autonomously; Can generate own work (vs. typically assigned by manager)

• Basic knowledge and experience in policy and standard implementation 

PROFICIENT IN:

• Experience with Microsoft Office suite to include Excel / PowerPoint/ Word / Visio 
• Experience with data visualization using tools such as Tableau 

• Experience with   SharePoint development and PowerApps  

• Understanding of data governance frameworks such as DCAM or DAMA-DMBOK is not required but a plus.
