This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams and locations.

As the Director, People Analytics you will lead the People Analytics team within the Human Resources function and be responsible for transforming how Blue Origin uses data to drive people-related decisions. This role will develop and implement an analytics strategy that includes refinement of our approach to business intelligence, data warehousing, and data visualization. This leader will provide frequent consultation to HR leaders and other senior leaders at all levels and will ensure that the analytics provided are accurate, actionable and provide insights that improve the employee experience and enable leaders to make data-driven decisions. This leader will ensure the integrity and security of employee data through data governance and reporting standards and controls.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for overseeing a strategy focused on transforming HR data into actionable insights to support business decision making and drive behaviors around key HR initiatives. Own the design and implementation of all People Analytics initiatives.
  • Develop a plan for optimizing a self-service environment for HR analytics, enabling leaders, managers and other end-users to access reports and analytics when and as needed
  • Become a trusted leader and partner to HR leadership by providing accurate, secure analytics and insights and proactively seeking and identifying improvement opportunities
  • Develop reports and dashboards that visually display the performance of Blue’s people goals
  • Lead and mentor a team of analytics professionals, optimizing data practices, stakeholder engagement and communication standards.
  • Guide the team on technical challenges, including creating dashboards in Tableau and optimizing data in SQL.
  • Advance data management, engineering, and quality practices.
  • Accelerate the transition from transactional reporting to predictive analytics.
  • Monitor and maintain dashboards for data accuracy, reliability and performance
  • Deliver training and support to relevant audiences on using the dashboards effectively
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across HR and Blue Origin to ensure appropriate collection of requirements and alignment on priorities.
  • Partner with HR leaders to identify and implement improvement opportunities through analytics.
  • Develop and maintain self-service reporting solutions and dashboards using BI tools like Power BI, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Partners with HR Business Partners, HR Service Center, Legal, and other COEs, as necessary, to ensure that reporting solutions and insights, analytical tools and dashboards deliver actionable and accurate data to end users.
  • Leads the development, reporting, and review of metrics to drive performance, identify trends, and develop/implement process improvements.
  • Establishes productivity and performance standards to ensure levels are achieved, especially during critical activity periods
  • Defines Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that will provide insight into issues and trends that impact operational effectiveness

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years experience in People Analytics or related fields
  • 3+ years managing People Analytics teams
  • Expertise in Tableau and SQL,
  • Data science language skills such as Python, or VBA
  • Strong data storytelling skills, Experience presenting to the C-suite
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion 
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.  


 

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $182,450.00-$255,429.30

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification, Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
