We’re looking for a Principal Engineer to take full technical ownership of our product roadmap and systems architecture.
As a Principal Engineer at Local Infusion, you’ll play a mission-critical role in building scalable, secure, and reliable systems that power our core operations, including our Virtual Infusion Guide platform and other proprietary technologies. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Operations, and external engineering vendors to bring high-impact initiatives to life and position our infrastructure for long-term growth. This is an opportunity to shape the future of healthcare delivery while working with cutting-edge technologies and meaningful real-world data.
In this role, you will:
Own the technical roadmap and platform architecture to ensure scalability, security, and reliability
Drive roadmap execution by partnering with Product to define technical milestones and lead end-to-end delivery
Lead AI & automation initiatives, integrating third-party services and building in-house tools that streamline business processes
Write and review code, establish engineering best practices, and guide system design standards
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external development partners as a technical leader and mentor
Manage and maintain core systems, including our CRM, EHR, RCM tools, and data infrastructure
Plan for scale, proactively resolving performance bottlenecks, tech debt, and system constraints
Oversee vendor performance, evaluating engineering consultants and ensuring quality delivery across all teams
Here’s what we’re looking for:
8–10+ years of full-stack engineering experience
Deep backend experience with Node.js, Python, or Go
Frontend expertise with frameworks like React or Vue
Proven success leading architecture in production environments at scale
Strong API design skills and experience building secure, distributed microservices
Experience with healthcare systems—HIPAA, HL7, FHIR, EHRs, and payer APIs
Hands-on experience integrating AI/ML (e.g., LLMs, NLP, document automation, RAG systems)
Familiarity with DevOps tools, CI/CD workflows, IaC, and observability (Azure preferred)
Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical teams
Bonus Points For:
Experience at fast-moving startups
Familiarity with tools like LangChain, Pinecone, or custom RAG pipelines
