Your Opportunity
Reporting to the Chief Platform Officer, this role will focus on future product innovation leveraging existing business competencies, AI-enablement, our data/content assets and future advanced technologies to drive new products and services via platforms and/or platform-mediated networks. You will collaborate cross functionality to inspire product and technology teams to explore new ideas and push the boundaries of what is possible while also ensuring that such platform development is extensible in terms of business model, subject domains, and technological evolution. You will help the company stay at the forefront of technological advancements and innovative, scalable products and services that deliver high value to customers and EBSCO.
This remote position is U.S.-based only (excluding U.S. territories)
What You'll Do
- Platform / Product Strategy: refine and execute on product strategy by researching market needs, sizing potential opportunities, and aligning with existing business competencies
- Platform / Product Discovery: drive product/solution fit with external professionals / SMEs, partners, and our internal teams to identify problems worth solving and validating solutions
- Platform / Product Development: work with cross functional teams (design, engineering, and data science) to understand and execute on the roadmap and develop high quality products, guiding the development of long-term functional and non-functional requirements for core platform capabilities
- Collaborate, Communicate, & Evangelize: work with cross functional teams to gain an understanding of the key market opportunities on which to focus; influence how we deliver scalable platforms and solutions to delight customers; communicate vision, plan, and benefits in a clear and compelling manner to build confidence and enthusiasm

You will be welcomed as one of the founding members of the Platform team, which is focused on defining and developing scalable and innovative products and services that deliver compelling value to EBSCO and the clients we serve. If you’re a creative problem solver who sees technical and market challenges as an opportunity for value creation, you’ll thrive as a Principal Product Manager on this team.
About You
- 10+ years previous product management or software development experience including AI, healthcare technology, particularly in clinical or medical applications with demonstrated success in full product lifecycle management, from ideation to launch, focusing on user-centered design and outcomes.
- 4+ Years focusing on product and platform innovation with an emphasis on data science and AI
- Expertise in AI and machine learning principles as applied to clinical data and medical analytics, including familiarity with natural language processing (NLP) for medical records, predictive modeling, and other ML techniques that support clinical decision-making and the ability to interpret ML model outputs and work with data science teams to refine models based on clinical relevance and feedback.
- Expertise within the healthcare space particularly with the interoperability standards used (HL7, FHIR, CDA), vocabulary/terminology standards (ICD-10, NDC, RxNorm) as well as related regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, FDA)
- Expertise in healthcare patient information management with a focus on matching patients with other related information based on demographics, condition and/or medications.
What sets you apart:
- Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or Equivalent
- A track record of results with a focus on SaaS, data-driven products, or platforms serving knowledge-intensive industries like research, academia, or data science and proven track record in developing and scaling SaaS products from concept to launch, with a deep understanding of the SaaS business model.
- Proficiency in agile development methodologies and associated tools to manage workflows
- A track record of successfully delivering complex SaaS products and platforms with an emphasis on integration into customer technical ecosystem.
- Comfortable solving big, ambiguous problems via experimentation and limited data
- Experience working directly with engineers and designers to ship customer-facing applications
- Strong analytical and data driven approach to problem solving
- Strong executive communication and project management skills with leadership teams
- Strong story-telling abilities to rally both internal and external stakeholders.
Pay Range
