Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Analyst to boost our analytical maturity in the dynamic and fast-paced retail industry. The ideal candidate will provide business analytics services such as business intelligence, market and customer research and analysis, and dashboards and scorecard creation to business units and executives. As the BI Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in supporting business leaders with information that leads to measurable business outcomes, optimized processes, and fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making.
CONTRACT: 14-months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Insights and Reporting: Coordinates with knowledge workers to understand their information needs and identify ways to visualize and present information in a user-friendly manner.
- Business Domain Knowledge: Understands the decision-making process, workflows, and business and information needs of business unit heads and service manager/owners, and translate those needs into analytics/reporting requirements to support executive decisions and workflows with required information.
- Ad Hoc Information Requests: Deliver insights and thought partnership on an ad hoc basis to support key business events like stocking new store openings, new product launches, labour scheduling, and forecasting.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Merchandising, Ecommerce, Operations, and Finance to understand business needs, provide insights, and recommend data-driven solutions. Translate complex analytics concepts into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders. Acts as a go-to-person for end users to interpret and use information
- Advanced Analytics: Proactively mine data warehouse to identify trends and patterns and generate insights for business units and senior leadership.
- Technology and Tools: Stay updated on the latest analytics tools and technologies. A thorough understanding of the OSL analytics platform is required to ensure data accuracy, security, and scalability. Interacts with Information Architects to understand how information is stored, modeled, and tagged.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in a relevant field (e.g., data analytics, data science, computer science, management information systems, finance, statistics, or related fields).
- Proven experience (5+ years) as a data analyst, business intelligence analyst, market research analyst, financial analyst, statistician, or equivalent roles in the Retail industry
- Solid understanding of retail and sales KPIs, metrics, and operational processes.
- Strong expertise in data analysis, statistical modeling, and data visualization tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Domo, etc.).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques and their applications in retail analytics is an asset.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to identify business opportunities from data insights.

Interview Process:
- Step 1: If your profile is a match, we will invite you for a first conversation with the recruiter.
- Step 2: The next step is an in-person interview with the hiring manager including a technical test on basic knowledge of EXCEL and SQL.
- Step 3: The final step is a virtual interview with the Director of BI and Analytics.
