THE JOB:

The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for creating, maintaining, monitoring, and optimizing the relational SQL Server and its associated technologies like SSIS to deliver actionable analytics and insights within the HR Analytics function.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Designs and develops complex data transformations used within analytical databases, operational reporting, and dashboards using various tools.

• Executes complex hypothesis testing, data mining, and model development to solve complex problems, under the guidance of HR Analytics leadership.

• Develops and maintains architecture of databases (i.e. tables, procedures, ETLs, etc.), along with data warehouse.

• Designs and develops performant and resilient database objects in SQL Server (SSMS).

• Extracts, compiles, and cleans HR data from Workday, SQL server, and various other sources.

• Design and implement dashboards and other data visualizations that present data in a meaningful and actionable way.

• Analyzes issues independently, uses judgement to make decisions, and takes necessary action.

• Partners with Director of HR Analytics to implement strategic initiatives and special projects.

• Ensures high internal customer satisfaction in accordance with MGM Resorts service standards.

• Analyzes and documents how the business requirements fit into existing system and provides recommendations.

• Maintains a solid understanding of the Company’s goals and objectives.

• Actively seeks out new opportunities to optimize capabilities while considering down‐stream impact and ensuring data integrity.

• Provides data analysis for a variety of needs to better inform decision‐making; effectively communicates the narrative of the data, including trends and/or incongruities.

• Partners with business stakeholders to understand their requests and ensures a solution that meets their needs.

• Follows established service standards and procedures while ensuring that deadlines are met within time frames and quality expectations.

• Strong aptitude for quickly troubleshooting and identifying the cause of questionable results within extracts and reports.

• Demonstrated business analyst experience; communicating effectively with business clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions.

• Analyzes issues independently, uses judgement to make decisions, and takes necessary action.

• Perform other job-related duties as requested

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics,

  Economics, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• 3+ years experience creating dashboards and visualizations, writing SQL server code

• 3+ years of relevant experience with SSIS

• Experience providing Human Resources reporting and analytics insights preferred.

• Experience in the Healthcare environment (Eligibility, Claims, Providers) preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking

• Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences

• Ability to work independently and manage projects from start to finish
