In this role, you will:

• Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
• Contribute to large scale planning of strategies
• Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
• Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
• Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements
• Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
• Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience of 4+ years of hands-on development in creating ETL Interfaces using PySpark,Scala,SPARK,SQL,Unix
• Strong knowledge in Unix shell scripting & hands-on experience in developing  and enhancing the scripts
• Strong knowledge & expertise in writing SQL queries (preferably in Oracle)
• Strong Knowledge & expertise in Performance Tuning of SQL, Spark SQL, distributed processing, UNIX Scripts
• Strong analytical & problem solving skills
• Knowledge on Hadoop Eco system, Hive, Spark, Scala would be an added advantage.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Experience in working on the projects using Agile methodology
• Experience in working with AutoSys, uDeploy/Harness and JIRA
• Ability to work effectively in virtual environment where key team members and partners are in various time zones and locations
• Ability to interact effectively and confidently with senior management

Job Expectations:

• Development & maintenance of the ETL Interfaces using PySpark, Scala, SPARK, SQL, Unix
• Optimize ETL long running processes and  able to tune SQL, Spark SQL, distributed processing..
• Able to write complex, medium-complex sqls in Oracle and able to optimize the SQL queries.
• Analyze complex business requirements, functional specs and understands technical specifications
• Troubleshoot applications and work directly with various application/ business/support team partners
• Contributes to technical discussion with senior technology leads and architects
• Contributes to continuous improvement technical ideas within the team
• Develop less experienced team members to enhance on their technical and domain capabilities
• Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met as part of projects delivery
• Able to provide Level-3 application support
• Identify and utilize best practices in the industry to maximize efficient and elegant solutions while minimizing cost.
• Should be well versed with version control systems and efficiently manage deployment strategy.
• Execute and co-ordinate testing and bug fixing with the Design, Development and testing teams in an Agile environment
• Proactively work with the team to ensure the right quality checks are in place at the various stages of the Data Integration, Data Transformation and Data consumption layers.
• Effectively document use cases, test cases, SRS, UATs, best practices, testing policies and other testing documentation.
• Develop, Review and tests the software components for adherence to the design requirements and document test results.
• Effectively work in a hybrid environment where legacy ETL and Data Warehouse applications and new big-data applications co-exist
• Utilizes a thorough understanding of available technology, tools, and existing designs.
• Leverage knowledge of industry trends to build best in class technology to provide competitive advantage.
• Should be well versed with Branching strategy of GIT Flow, Merge conflict resolution, high level architecture of CICD, Artifact publishing in Python, Security tools Ex: CheckMarx, Blackduck
