See yourself in our team

Our Group Audit and Assurance (GA&A) team are the internal audit function for the Group. Their primary purpose is to provide independent and objective assurance of the effectiveness of the Groups risk management, controls and governance processes.

As digital technology disrupts and transforms entire industries and ways of working, GA&A is committed to keeping pace and continually reimagining themselves with the latest global best technology and innovation. Evolving customer expectations and pace of change require GA&A to support the business with new insights and risk coverage that puts customers first and to to continue to provide insightful assurance to the Board.

GA&A has increasingly embedded digital assurance into audit activities, injecting Artificial Intelligence (AI) into routine control testing and using digital tools to improve the overall experience for employees. The next phase of our transformation is enabling continuous, data driven assurance across the 3LoA.

Do work that matters

The Corporate Governance and Reporting (CGR) team plays a critical role in ensuring GA&A delivers high quality and meaningful insights and reporting to senior CBA stakeholders. This includes the Board Audit Committee (BAC), Board Risk and Compliance Committee (BRCC) and Board People & Remuneration Committee (BPRC), the CEO and the Executive Leadership Team Non-Financial Risk Committee (ELT NFRC).

The Data Visualisation team, within CGR, creates information graphics and data visualisations to complement reports. Our aim is to take information gathered by the Audit teams and translate this into concise and clear graphics to deliver their story.

You will add value through:

  • Designing and delivering high quality and meaningful visuals and graphics of Audit insights for senior stakeholders of the CBA Group - including the Group Auditor, the Board, CEO and Group Executive Leadership Team, and the Non-Financial Risk Committee
  • Creating visual designs that inform and drive change across the CBA Group; our work visualises the work of our Auditors to highlight audit outcomes, material risk areas and remediation of significant issues and the control environment.

We’re interested in hearing from people who will aspire to

  • Support the delivery of best-in-class data visualisation and information graphics to senior CBA stakeholders. Designs are clear and concise and assist the Board and senior executives in executing their corporate governance and risk oversight accountabilities.
  • Collaborate with GA&A stakeholders to determine the most appropriate way to visually represent audit findings and insights, and ensure the graphics are an accurate representation of our team’s work.
  • Coach and work with auditors on data visualisation and information design best practice to include in Audit Reports.

Other qualities you may possess include

  • Creative and analytic skills, as the focus of our work is designing data visualisation and information graphics. The role requires someone who has both solid information design and analytic skills.
  • Data visualisation and information design experience may have been gained designing board or annual reports, marketing or market research reports/presentations, data graphics and explainers for newspapers or magazines, or dashboard design in BI. In this work you’ve used graphics to explain data or systems in a style to convey information clearly and simply to your audience.
  • Numeric and analytic skills mean you have the ability to perform data transformations and create visualisations in Excel at a minimum. Being able to analyse, reshape and visualise data using Python or R would be advantageous
  • Knowing how to manipulate and reshape data to create charts beyond the basic Excel or PowerPoint templates (for example, performing analysis and visualising time series data or network graphs).
  • Demonstrated experience in managing stakeholders. You can work closely with key senior stakeholders to understand insights to be communicated and translate this into appropriate charts and graphics.
  • Understanding of data visualisation best practices.
  • An excellent eye for detail and accuracy
  • High degree of resilience and aptitude for multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment with a goal orientated mindset. You enjoy learning and researching new techniques and tools.
  • Strong MS Office skills: Excel, PowerPoint and Word. PowerBI skills would also be advantageous.
  • Financial services industry knowledge and experience will be advantageous but we will train the right candidate
