As one of the first schools of social work in the United States, the Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice has shaped the field for more than 100 years. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Network for College Success (NCS), at the Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Prac-tice, ensures college readiness and success for all students by translating research into practice and sup-porting leaders to organize their schools for improvement. NCS provides professional learning and sup-port to school and district leaders and helps them focus on what matters most for high school students. NCS supports adults within and across schools to build their capacity to lead change, improve instruction, and support student transitions in and out of high school. NCS envisions high schools that continuously cultivate collaboration, powerful learning, and a culture of high achievement to ensure postsecondary success for all students.
Job Summary

The job responsibilities are detailed below.
Responsibilities
- Lead and implement data pipeline automation, data engineering and infrastructure management, data governance and security, machine learning integration, and monitoring and continuous improvement.
- Automates the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data
- Ensures data quality, consistency, and reliability across systems
- Builds and maintains scalable data bases and real-time pipelines
- Optimizes storage, processing, and retrieval of large data sets
- Implements access controls, compliance policies, and data lineage tracking
- Ensures data meets privacy and regulatory standards
- Supports predictive modeling, machine learning and business intelligence
- Ensures data is clean, timely, and accessible
- Uses observability tools to track data flow and detect anomalies
- Applies Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) to improve models and dashboards
- With support from the NCS coaching team, coach school and district partners in the effective development, use, and culture-building of data systems to support continuous improvement of student learning experiences and outcomes
- Provides Director of Data Strategy and Innovation with data and other information as required for reporting to NCS funders
- Participates in knowledge management routines to continue codifying effective practices
- Collaborates with NCS staff to design and facilitate high-quality professional learning internally and to partner educators as assigned
- Represents NCS in UChicago and external facing presentations, meetings, and forums as assigned
- Analyzes moderately complex data sets for the purpose of extracting and purposefully using applicable information
- Provides professional support to staff or faculty members in defining the project and applying principals of data science in manipulation, statistical applications, programming, analysis and modeling
- Cleans, transforms, merges, and matches between large and complex research and administrative datasets. Plans own resources to collect, organize, and analyze information from the University's various internal data systems as well as from external sources
- Performs other related work as needed

Experience working in an organization centered on coaching educators
Ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues and school partners in a school and/or district environment
Ability to effectively communicate to a variety of audiences orally and in writing
Familiarity with the NCS Success Teams Framework
Ability to travel; must have reliably working transportation
