Electromagnetic Test and Evaluation Engineer (Associate or Experienced)

Company:

The Boeing Company

The Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) team in Huntsville, AL is hiring an Electromagnetic Test and Evaluation Engineer.

This is an exciting opportunity that offers interdisciplinary work with both internal and external customers. The Electromagnetic Capability within BT&E is wide-ranging, stretching from Seattle, WA, through Mesa, AZ, to Saint Louis, MO, and down to Huntsville, AL and provides practical solutions for RCS testing, antenna pattern characterization, EMC, EO/IR, material measurements, and more. Opportunities exist for travel to other EM or business partner labs as well as national conferences and symposiums to support the business.

This position involves working with an experienced, interdisciplinary and multi-organizational team to create innovative solutions to meet unique and challenging requirements in a laboratory environment. Boeing’s state-of-the-art Dynamic Advanced Radar Test (DART) facility is a full hardware-in-the-loop simulation capability for the development, verification, and sustainment of radar missile seekers. Using the world’s largest missile seeker positioner, test articles are moved through a realistic motion profile while targets and countermeasures, generated by digital RF memories (DRFMs), provide highly realistic radar reflections. A spatial target array is then used to electronically position emissions from different points in space completing this highly realistic laboratory environment. The DART incorporates a wide variety of specialized equipment combining real-time software, LabView interfaces, RF systems, and complex FPGA designs.

This role will require strong collaboration skills to work seamlessly with an interdisciplinary and multi-organizational team to complete a test program that meets customer requirements. Must have organizational skills and adaptability to work in a fast-paced and continually changing environment.
