Join Iress as a Market Structure Specialist, where you'll play a key role in exchange-driven regulatory projects and trading initiatives across Canada and the UK. Based in Toronto, this role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-impact financial systems while partnering with global teams to deliver best-in-class trading solutions.

Some of the awesome things you’ll be involved with

• Acting as a subject matter expert on market structure across Canadian and UK equity and derivatives markets.

• Leading exchange-related regulatory initiatives and delivering them through our Product and Delivery teams.

• Advising internal stakeholders and clients on marketplace features, routing solutions, and best execution practices.

• Conducting product acceptance testing to ensure trading platforms meet regulatory and client requirements.

• Collaborating with exchanges, FIX teams, product owners, and global implementation teams to deliver robust solutions.

• Supporting complex production issues (Tier 3), managing hotfixes, and ensuring trading interface reliability.

• Documenting and enhancing user guides, FAQs, Slack bots, and other automated tools to support our clients.

• Participating in client project delivery involving smart order routing, conditional orders, and 

What you will bring

• Strong knowledge of both Canadian and UK equity/derivatives market structures.

• Experience in smart order routing, algorithmic trading strategies, or transaction cost analysis.

• Technical proficiency in one or more of: Lua, Python, SQL, R, C#, or similar scripting/programming languages.

• Understanding of version control tools like Git and data analytics methodologies.

• A problem-solving mindset, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions.

• The ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities.

• Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills across global teams.

• A degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Statistics, Financial Engineering, or a related discipline.
