Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is looking for a Test Engineering Technician/Specialist to join our Manufacturing Test Engineering team supporting our Flying Probe test system. You will be working on the troubleshooting and development of test programs for a rapidly growing test solution. Our team designs test methodologies and programs that ensure boards ship with the highest quality possible and last decades. 

 

Our ideal candidate is familiar with manufacturing, testing processes and statistical process control, as well as focused on growth and continuous learning and providing continuous quality to our customers. If you are looking for an opportunity to get hands-on with a variety of SEL boards, data analysis, and test program troubleshooting and development, then this position is for you. 

 

As a Test Engineering Technician/Specialist, a typical day might include the following:  

  • Provide support to the manufacturing floor. 

  • Validate and deploy test pallets and test programs. 

  • Use test statistics and characteristics to evaluate and improve test performance.

  • Update basic test programs. 

  • Collaborate with a wide variety of people and teams to wholistically improve test solutions. 

  • Learn and follow department processes while communicating opportunities for improvement to documentation or work instructions. 

  • Use a variety of tools and resources to investigate and resolve technical issues.   

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills 

  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities 

  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Two years' experience working with SEL products  

  • Experience with instrumentation such as DMM, Power supplies, Oscilloscope Familiarity with electrical circuits and computer architecture 

  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, electronic schematics, and wiring diagrams 

  • Experience with programming languages such as Python or C#

  • Experience with statistical process control

Position and Pay: 

We anticipate filling the position as one of the following depending on experience and qualifications. 

Engineering Support Specialist I: $19.13 - $28.16

Engineering Support Specialist II: $20.65 - $30.48  

Engineering Support Specialist III: $22.50 - $33.25 

Test Engineering Technician I: $24.15 - $35.73
