Role Overview – Director, Data Analytics
As the Director, Analytics you will play a pivotal role in shaping Coupang's Taiwan product strategy by leveraging the power of data. You will lead a team of talented business analysts working closely with the Catalogue, Retail, Product, and Engineering teams. Your primary objectives will be to build a world-class, data-driven e-commerce product experience for our customers and to define and execute the overarching data strategy for Coupang's international markets. This is a unique opportunity to build from a strong foundation and make a transformative impact on a rapidly growing global business.
This role requires a strong mix of business acumen and statistical expertise, with hands-on experience in business analytics, incrementality testing and large scale business performance measurements. You will work cross functionally with catalog selection, quality, onboarding and operations teams to drive data driven improvements across catalog and platform business strategies.
What You Will Do
- Lead Analytics Strategy: Define and execute the analytics vision for e-commerce product performance, customer behavior, and digital experience optimization.
- Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of product analysts and data scientists.
- Product Insights: Deliver actionable insights on user behavior, funnel performance, A/B testing, and feature adoption to inform product development.
- Data Infrastructure: Collaborate with Data Engineering to ensure robust data pipelines, tracking, and reporting infrastructure.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a strategic partner to Product Managers, Designers, and Marketing teams to align on KPIs and success metrics.
- Experimentation: Oversee the design, implementation, and analysis of A/B and multivariate tests to drive continuous improvement.
- Reporting & Dashboards: Develop and maintain executive-level dashboards and reports that communicate key performance indicators and trends.
- Customer Segmentation: Leverage advanced analytics to identify customer segments, behaviors, and lifetime value opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in analytics, with at least 3 years in a leadership role focused on e-commerce or digital products.
- Proven experience in managing large scale customers performance and catalogues.
- Strong statistical background with experience in A/B testing, experimental design, regression analysis, causal inference and data modelling
- Strong understanding of e-commerce KPIs, customer journey mapping, and digital funnel optimization.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Proven track record of building and scaling analytics teams in a fast-paced environment.
