We are looking for a software developer in R&D with a passion for artificial intelligence, who wants to contribute to the advancement of AI in 3Shape’s top-of-the-range scanner systems. You will join an innovative and agile team working in a stimulating environment, closely collaborating with specialists in electronics, optics, and mechanics.

Your Role

Together with your team, you will ensure that our AI-powered scanner systems stay ahead of the curve. You will lead the development of intelligent features and machine learning models that enhance the performance, accuracy, and usability of our scanners. Your ideas, technical skills, and contributions to a collaborative development process will be highly valued. You will be part of a cross-functional team of highly skilled professionals who set the bar for innovation and excellence.

Your responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the design and development of AI-driven components for our next-generation intraoral scanner solutions.
• Develop and optimize machine learning models and AI algorithms for real-time performance on both real and simulated scanner data.
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning, and drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies into our products.
• Collaborate closely with cross-disciplinary teams—including software, electrical, optical, and mechanical engineers—to integrate AI seamlessly into the scanner platform.
• Contribute to an innovative, and supportive team culture. We value curiosity, collaboration, and a good sense of humor.

Your profile

• Educated to M.Sc. or Ph.D. level in computer science, electronics engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related field, with a focus on artificial intelligence or machine learning.
• Proficient in at least one of object-oriented programming languages, like experience in modern C++, C#, and Python.
• Deep interest in, and solid understanding of, AI technologies, including machine learning, deep learning, and data-driven systems.
• Creative and analytical thinker with commitment to developing intelligent, robust, and scalable AI solutions.
• Practical mindset with experience of applying AI techniques to solve real-world problems.
• Committed to quality, innovation, with a keen interest in emerging AI trends and technologies.
• Experience working in Linux or Windows environments.
