If these questions strike a chord, then you might be the person that we are looking for to strengthen our team. You'll be part of the ‘Business Insights Discovery team’ within the Data Acceleration Tribe. Within Telenet’s Data Acceleration Tribe, you’ll be part of the ‘Business Insights Discovery team’. 

This centralized team of 7 people focuses on conducting in-depth data analysis to provide strategic insights and deliver actionable recommendations to address key business challenges across the company. Our This team’s main focus is always on explaining WHY things are happening and WHAT business should do differently to address the problem. Causal inference with observational data is a key part of this. 

 
Your tasks as a Causal Data Analyst:  

  • You understand the business question and can structure it into clear analysis questions or hypothesis to test 
  • Based on the question, you select the appropriate analytics technique to create solid counterfactuals or test for causality. 
  • You query, clean and manipulate the data you need from different sources 
  • You perform deep-dive data analysis 
  • You critically assess and validate your results, and can define next steps 
  • You work with your team members to bring all the learnings together and to find the bigger story and patterns 
  • You present your insights to stakeholders, within or outside of the data tribe 
  • You support your colleagues and help them where possible 

 

Our ideal candidate has: 

  • A Master’s degree that trained you in Statistics and Econometrics (such Econometrics, Business Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Quantitative Social Sciences or equivalent) 
  • Hands-on experience as a data analyst with causal inference on observational data: either professionally or project-based during studies, bootcamp or extracurricular projects  
  • Solid understanding of causal inference and what makes good counterfactuals. The passion to learn more on this topic and help others 
  • Solid understanding of statistical analysis and data mining techniques (classification, clustering, regression, …) 
  • A hands-on mentality to really dive into the data and find the answers 
  • Strong data skills with knowledge of at least one coding language (Python, R …). The willingness to learn Python, Pyspark and SQL if not yet proficient.  
  • Critical thinking and a problem-solving and result-driven mindset 
  • A drive to manage an analytics initiative end to end, including effective storytelling and stakeholder management 
  • Fluent in English. Knowledge of Dutch/French is a bonus
