Your next role: As the Head of Data & Business Intelligence, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of data at Doctor Care Anywhere. You will lead the design and execution of our data strategy, ensuring our data infrastructure, governance, and insights capabilities are robust, scalable, and aligned with our mission to deliver exceptional digital healthcare. 

You will oversee and integrate three core data functions: Data Engineering, Data Administration, and Business Intelligence, ensuring they operate cohesively and deliver high-quality, actionable insights to internal stakeholders. 

Salary Banding: £95,000 – £110,000 per annum, depending on experience

Working Pattern: Hybrid, with approximately 2 days per week in the London office

Requirements

Strategic Leadership & Vision 

• Define and execute a comprehensive data and BI strategy aligned with organisational goals. 

• Champion a data-driven culture by embedding analytics into strategic and operational decision-making. 

• Communicate the BI vision and roadmap to stakeholders, ensuring alignment and buy-in. 

Data Architecture, Governance & Compliance 

• Re-design, execute and maintain scalable, secure, and compliant data architecture and infrastructure. 

• Establish and enforce robust data governance policies to ensure data quality, integrity, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR). 

• Ensure the BI function adheres to industry standards and internal compliance requirements. 

Business Intelligence & Analytics 

• Develop and evolve a cohesive BI framework that delivers a single source of truth for metrics and KPIs. 

• Oversee the development and optimisation of BI tools and dashboards (e.g., Power BI), ensuring accessibility, usability, and visual excellence. 

• Deliver advanced analytics, including predictive models, benchmarking, and performance trend analysis. 

KPI Development & Performance Monitoring 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs). 

• Ensure timely, accurate, and insightful reporting of business metrics to support decision-making at all levels. 

• Technology & Innovation 

• Lead the selection, implementation, and continuous improvement of BI platforms, data warehouses, and analytics tools. 

• Explore and adopt emerging technologies (e.g., AI, machine learning) to enhance analytical capabilities and drive innovation. 

Team Leadership & Development 

• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of data engineers, analysts, and BI professionals. 

• Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture focused on continuous learning and excellence. 

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication 

• Partner with leaders across Operations, Customer, Product, Finance, Clinical, and Marketing to understand data needs and deliver tailored insights. 

• Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences. 

Data Literacy & Organisational Enablement 

• Promote data literacy across the organisation through training, resources, and self-service BI tools. 

• Empower teams to make informed decisions by improving access to high-quality data and insights. 

• Budget & Resource Management 

• Manage the BI function’s budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and alignment with strategic priorities. 

• Identify opportunities for efficiency and continuous improvement in BI processes and delivery

Key Accountabilities: 

• Strategic Vision: Develop and communicate the BI vision and strategy to senior management and stakeholders.  

• Team Leadership:Lead and motivate the BI team, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to succeed.  

• Data Quality & Security: Ensure the integrity and security of data assets, adhering to data governance policies.  

• Business Value: Identify and deliver BI solutions that provide tangible business value and drive decision-making.  

• Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in the BI process and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.  

• Stakeholder Management: Effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including C-suite, to ensure alignment and support for BI initiatives.  

• Budget Management: Manage the BI budget and ensure resources are used effectively.  

• Compliance: Ensure the BI function complies with relevant regulations and industry standards. 

Person Specification 

• Proven experience designing and delivering scalable, insightful dashboards, embedded analytics and reports for a variety of business functions. 

•  Proficient in SQL and database design. 

• Experience in business intelligence and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI). 

• Demonstrated success in implementing data quality frameworks and processes. 

• Experience managing and mentoring data teams. 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

• Detail-oriented with a process-driven mindset. 

• Experience working with CRM systems, particularly Dynamics 365. 

Key Objectives & Success Metrics 

• Implement a robust Development and BI methodology aligned with ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 standards. 

• Deliver a fully automated data import hub for patient data. 

• Improve the availability, accuracy, and trust in business metrics. 

• Develop a suite of dashboards and reports for each function, enabling self-service where appropriate. 

• Build deep knowledge of data architecture and business processes to support insight delivery. 

• Partner with functional leads to deliver insights that drive growth, efficiency, and patient satisfaction. 

• Continuously improve data quality and solution performance. 

• Actively contribute to the protection of information security across the organisation.
