Wells Fargo is seeking an Analytics Senior Manager in the Global Payments & Liquidity Analytics team. The Analytics Manager position will oversee analytic initiatives in support of the GPL line of business.
Department Overview:
GPL Analytics team develops, manages and Insights and Reports for various units of GPL business groups, providing both qualitative & quantitative analytical support. This includes designing, developing and implementing and mission-critical business intelligence and tools in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Deeply embedded within GPL business teams and internal partners, the team ensures direct alignment with business objectives, driving data-driven decision making and strategic impacts.
In this role, you will:
- Manage and develop a team of individual contributors in planning, coordinating, and executing data research projects or results oriented intelligence that supports line of business or companywide business objectives
- Identify and recommend strategies for developing and utilizing technical or analytic resources to enable initiatives that predict, improve, support, and measure business success
- Interpret and develop strategies that maximize profits or asset growth and minimize credit losses, operating losses and other risk exposures
- Ensure adherence to data management and data governance regulations, and policies and compliance requirements
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and multiple level managers to ensure effective consultation and recommendations based on data analysis
- Provide leadership to the department in the identification and development of innovative research concepts and designs
- Work with clients to define issues and information needs and translate them into specific data and technical requirements to support business initiatives and projects
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources
- Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent
- Lead and develop a high-performing analytics team to support strategic initiatives across the Global Payments and Liquidity business.
- Define and drive the analytics agenda, ensuring alignment with business strategy, risk frameworks, and compliance requirements.
- Partner with senior stakeholders across Product, Sales, Finance, Operations, and Technology to deliver data-driven solutions and business insights.
- Conduct advanced data analysis to support decision-making on liquidity management, client behavior, payment flows, and revenue opportunities.
- Maintain strong data governance practices and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal policy standards.
- Oversee the development and timely delivery of MIS and business reporting with a focus on accuracy, automation, and strategic relevance.
- Design and implement interactive dashboards and visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools to provide insights at scale.
- Source, transform, and integrate large volumes of data from multiple systems (e.g., Oracle, Teradata, SQL) to support analytical use cases.
- Identify and execute opportunities to automate reporting processes and reduce manual interventions.
- Provide ad hoc and strategic financial and business analytics to support pricing, forecasting, client profitability, and liquidity optimization.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and campaign metrics, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for business improvement.
- Support the build-out and enhancement of analytics infrastructure, including databases, data pipelines, and BI environments.
- Build strong partnerships with cross-functional teams to ensure quality deliverables, meet SLAs, and align with business expectations.
- This role requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical thinking, leadership experience and strategic decision making to drive impactful insights.
Required Qualifications:
- 6+ years of Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3+ years of experience managing or leading analytics teams
- degree in a quantitative discipline such as Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Economics
Desired Qualifications:
- Proven ability to align analytics solutions with business goals and influence strategic outcomes
- Strong command of SQL, along with proficiency in Python, R, or similar tools for statistical analysis and automation
- Expertise in data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI and Tableau
- Experience working with large, complex datasets from multiple sources (structured and unstructured)
- Strong attention to detail and a bias for execution, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex data into compelling business narratives
- Prior experience in payments, liquidity, or treasury services with knowledge of associated regulatory and risk requirements
- Experience in documentation standards, process repeatability, and enforcing accountability within analytics delivery
- Demonstrated ability to work across geographies, collaborate in a matrixed environment, and influence stakeholders at all levels
