Our crew collaborates with Frontline and Business Banking customers to develop relevant payments data reporting. We aim to reduce the effort of operations investigations and executional processes related to payments data. This involves ingesting, storing, and publishing payments data, including new data, maintenance, fixes, and changes. Additionally, we work with Channels and internal customers to make value-added payments data available.

We are interested in hearing from people who:

  • Are passionate about building next generation data platforms and data pipeline solutions for batch and streaming workloads.

  • Are Enthusiastic, be able to contribute and learn from wider data engineering talent in the team.

  • Are ready to execute state-of-the-art coding practices, driving high quality outcomes to solve core business objectives and minimise risks.

  • Are capable to create both technology blueprints and engineering roadmaps, for a multi- year data transformational journey.

  • Can lead and drive a culture where quality, excellence and openness are championed.

  • Constantly thinking outside the box and breaking boundaries to solve complex data problems.

  • Are confident in building data products or data assets from scratch, by integrating large sets of data derived from hundreds of internal and external sources.

  • Can collaborate, co-create, and contribute to existing Data Engineering practices in the team.

  • Can lead and mentor other data engineers in Agile teams delivering project work or initiative.

  • Have a natural drive to educate, communicate, and coordinate with different internal stakeholders and consultants.

Technical skills:

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team.

  • Experience in AWS data platforms (Glue, MSK/Kafka, Flink, Lambda, Redshift, Aurora, Athena, Kinesis, EMR, Airflow).

  • Data Processing: Strong expertise in Python, SQL, Spark, Scala and distributed data processing. Experience in handling batch and streaming workloads.

  • Data Governance & Security: Experience with AWS DataZone, Lake Formation, IAM, encryption and security best practices.

  • Marketplace & APIs: Exposure to AWS Marketplace and  API Gateway.

  • Automation & CI/CD: Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, GitOps, Dataform, Jenkins, and serverless frameworks.

  • Performance Optimization: Ability to fine-tune ETL jobs, query performance, and cost efficiencies.
