LOCATION: Los Angeles preferred but remote is acceptable, needs to work on Pacific coast time (available for meetings from 9 am to 4 pm pacific time)

THE TEAM

We are excited about music, live entertainment, marketing, data, and technology. Most of us had no previous experience working in music -- just a shared excitement about the space, a willingness to go to concerts / venues / festivals when needed as part of the job, and a desire to go to concerts / venues / festivals in our free time, too.

The Marketing Insights and Data Analytics Services team within the Marketing & Data Strategy organization works on projects across all divisions, to develop insights around Fans and Marketing programs. These insights are used to inspire new marketing programs and improve existing marketing efforts across Concerts, Ticketmaster, and Sponsorship business units. We are also responsible for quantifying the value of our marketing efforts through our test and learn program, incrementality testing and attribution thought leadership.

THE ROLE
We are looking for a Data Analytics Intern to help the Analytics and Fan Insights team with their operational tasks such as dashboard-building, documentation, and other analytical support. We are seeking someone who is data curious, proactive, super-organized, has exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills and thrives in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for someone who wants to potentially grow their career path into a data focused analytics role.

The position will be working with some of the most exciting data and useful tools like Databricks, Domo, Tableau, Confluence and JIRA just to name a few, and be a contributor to a more efficient and effective analytics operation eco-system.

This person will report to the Sr. Manager, Marketing Data Analytics.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

  • Support fan insight analytics by analyzing event, ticketing, and engagement data to uncover trends and inform strategic decision.

  • Familiarize themselves with internal data sources by exploring Databricks/SQL tables and understanding key data structures, with the goal of improving documentation and contributing to more effective and insightful reporting tools.

  • Assist in dashboard creation and maintenance using tools like Tableau/Domo to deliver clear and actionable insights to stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with senior analysts to learn best practices in data analysis, storytelling with data, and translating business questions into analytical approaches.

  • Support ongoing reporting needs by helping update, QA, and enhance recurring reports that inform marketing strategy decision.

  • Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to gain exposure to real-world problem-solving and contribute fresh ideas and perspectives.

  • Develop skills in end-to-end analysis-from data extraction and cleaning to insight generation and visualization – with guidance and feedback from experiences team members.

  • Contribute to data science initiatives by applying Python skills to prototype predictive models and automate analytical workflows.

  • We have a variety of teams and problems where you can work and learn; from Engineering and Business Intelligence to Digital Marketing, CRM and Analytics Team members – see the music business up close from multiple sides to better understand the elements involved with analytics and data.

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING:

  • Current college student or recent graduate.

  • Knowledge and/or interest in the music industry.

  • Some knowledge of marketing concepts and digital marketing channels.

  • Advanced writing skills, ability to organize and distil complicated topics to accessible summaries.

  • Intermediate Excel skills (lookups, debug formulas, pivot tables).

  • Some experience with data visualization tools like Tableau/Domo, preferred.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across departments and functions.

  • Knowledge of programming language like MySQL, Spark SQL, preferred.

  • Knowledge of Python

The expected compensation for this position is:

$20.00 USD - $25.00 USD Hourly
