About the Data Analytics Team

At Gorgias, the Data Analytics team is a mission-critical partner to every department. We work cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Sales, Success, Support, and Engineering teams. Our goal is to ensure accurate, timely, and actionable data flows across our organization, powering business decisions and operational excellence.

We focus on:

• Maintaining a robust data platform and stack to ensure data quality and availability.

• Designing advanced data models that produce scalable, well-governed insights.

• Building and deploying data products that drive measurable impact, such as:

  • Lead scoring & routing optimization

  • Churn prediction models

  • Automated enrichment pipelines

The team consists of two specialized sub-teams:

🧠 Business Intelligence

This team empowers internal teams with performance insights, reliable data marts, and self-serve analytics tools, including dashboards and ad-hoc analyses.

🏗 Analytics Engineering

This is where you come in. The Analytics Engineering team owns our data platform and analytics codebase, ensuring our datasets are trusted, performant, and easy to use. We’re building the foundation that enables our business to operate data-first at scale.

What You’ll Do

We’re looking for an Analytics Engineer who’s excited by the idea of building a world-class internal data platform that empowers every team at Gorgias to make smarter, faster decisions.

You’ll collaborate closely with Data Analysts, Software Engineers, and business stakeholders to scale our analytics capabilities.

Your responsibilities include:

• Design, build, and maintain robust data models using DBT that power strategic insights and reporting.

• Own and improve our analytics engineering codebase, prioritizing data reliability, scalability, and performance.

• Implement proactive data quality monitoring and alerting using tools like Metaplane and Datadog.

• Collaborate with analysts to drive analytics best practices, enforce code quality standards, and conduct peer reviews.

• Document your work thoroughly and promote a culture of knowledge sharing and self-serve analytics.

Who You Are

• 3+ years of experience as an Analytics Engineer or equivalent role in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

• Expert in SQL—you write elegant, performant queries and take pride in readable code.

• 2+ years experience with the modern data stack, including dbt, cloud warehouses (BigQuery preferred), and data pipeline tools (e.g., Airbyte, Fivetran, Segment).

• Strong understanding of data modeling, warehouse architecture, and transformation best practices.

• You demonstrate strong business acumen—you’re not just technical; you care deeply about solving business problems with data.

• Excellent communicator who enjoys mentoring others and translating complex data concepts into business value.

• Comfortable juggling multiple priorities and working with a wide variety of stakeholders from product to go-to-market teams.
