Job Overview
As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine (COM) has a reputation for training best-in-class healthcare professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients. In partnership with the UC Health academic healthcare system and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, the College of Medicine’s faculty are transforming the world of medicine every day. The Department of Radiology, located in the College of Medicine, is a top-tier department with world-renowned faculty and staff.
A full-time Post Doc Fellow position is available in the Imaging Core laboratory, in the Department of Radiology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
The primary goal of this position will be to assist in the research objectives of the imaging core lab. The incumbent will conduct research and/or analyze research data and ensure that all experiments are appropriately conducted following the policies and procedures of the University of Cincinnati. This position is a temporary appointment as a research trainee.
Essential Functions
- Conduct research on medical imaging and clinical report data within the pre-determined research scope and methodology.
- Gather and analyze data and develop new ideas that promote medical imaging research.
- Assist in the development of processes and pipelines for data management.
- Prepare data summaries, reports, manuscripts, and presentations of research results for publication in scientific journals and/or presentation; may assist in grant writing.
- Stay informed about developments in the fields of stroke, medical imaging, and deep learning to maintain and enhance your professional expertise.
- Lab maintenance, including equipment maintenance and ordering of supplies, as needed.
- May teach techniques, train, and mentor other research staff.
- Engage in appropriate training and professional development opportunities.
- Play an active role in seeking career and research advice, both from the faculty supervisor and from other faculty members as well.
- Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.
Required Education
Doctoral Degree in Computer Science or a similar field.
Required Experience
- In-depth knowledge of medical imaging procedures, techniques, and data formats.
- Experience with AI and deep learning algorithm development for medical image analysis.
- Familiarity with SQL, Python, Tensorflow, Scikit-Learn, and Pandas.
Additional Qualifications Considered
Experience with medical imaging data in the context of stroke is ideal.
