The Mission
To us, the home improvement contractor is a true embodiment of the American Dream – skilled craftspeople who choose to start their own business to build a better life for their families and their communities.
While home improvement professionals power a $500 billion per year industry and protect the homes of millions of Americans, they are typically overlooked by Wall Street and Silicon Valley, and are one of the most underserved, undercapitalized, and written-off segments of entrepreneurs.
We built Hearth to tip the odds of success in their favor. Hearth is a seamless digital toolkit that helps home improvement pros win more projects, grow their sales, and save time running their business. In the last six years, we’ve built an industry-leading technology platform (Financing, Payments, Quotes, Contracts, and Banking), work with over 15,000 contractors, and have funded over $500 million in additional projects for home improvement pros. And, we are just getting started.
Hearth is entering a pivotal stage of growth, and we're looking for a Data Lead to define and drive the next chapter of our data strategy. This is a hands-on leadership role at the intersection of analytics, engineering, and product. You’ll oversee the buildout of scalable data infrastructure, enable cross-functional decision-making, and help shape the culture of Hearth’s data team.
As a Data Lead at Hearth you are technically capable of using data to help all aspects of the business. Including but not limited to Sales/RevOps, Marketing, Customer Success, Finance, Product, Engineering, and Operations. You are comfortable quickly diving into new aspects of the business leveraging your technical capabilities to help provide meaningful data driven insights. You are excited to work closely with senior leadership, including the CEO, to leverage data and help make mission critical decisions.

This role is for someone who loves data, learning and growing.
Here's what you'll do:
- Own the end-to-end data process—from building reliable pipelines and scalable models to delivering insights and recommendations that drive decisions across Product, Customer Success, Finance, and Engineering.
- Leverage user, customer, and product data to identify behavioral trends, uncover friction points, and surface opportunities that influence roadmap, customer engagement, and go-to-market strategies.
- Define and standardize core business metrics in partnership with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment around KPIs that reflect product performance, customer health, and financial outcomes.
- Build and maintain dashboards and reporting tools that enable fast, self-serve access to critical insights.
- Mentor junior data analysts, providing technical guidance and coaching on analytical best practices, communication, and business context.
- Support experimentation and A/B testing, analyzing results and translating them into clear, actionable recommendations.
Here's what we're looking for:
- 5+ years of technical experience in data analytics, data engineering or similar with a proven track record of leading end-to-end data initiatives from ingestion to insight.
- Experience in fast-paced SaaS or tech environments, with deep understanding of key business and product metrics such as LTV, CAC, retention, and customer health.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL, with working knowledge of Python; capable of building robust queries, automating workflows, and conducting in-depth analytical investigations.
- Solid analytical foundation; you have a good understanding of product and business metrics, and knowledge of statistical methods.
- Comfortable working with complex, high-dimensional datasets, and designing scalable data models to support cross-functional needs.
- Hands-on experience with modern data tooling, including dbt, Looker, Mode, Tableau, Redshift, or similar platforms / tech-stacks.
- Strong communicator and cross-functional collaborator, able to translate technical findings into strategic recommendations for stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Finance.
- Experienced in—or eager to demonstrate—leadership through mentoring analysts, developing data talent, and elevating data literacy across the organization.
- Known for your bias toward action, attention to detail, and ability to operate independently in ambiguous or evolving environments.
