We have a hybrid working set up and therefore you will be required to attend our Rotterdam office minimum twice per week.

About the role 

Your role is going to be two-fold:

• Write your Master's thesis within the Quinyx AI Algorithm Team. We have several topics in the field of Operations Research and Machine Learning ready to be picked up; or better even, approach us with a topic of your own and convince us it is relevant and applicable for Quinyx!

• Learn by doing: work within the Quinyx Implementation Team next to your studies (full time or part-time) as a Technical Consultant (TC) Intern, and gain experience by participating in actual Quinyx implementation projects.

What you’ll be doing

As an TC intern, you’ll get the freedom to experiment with new methods to solve problems we haven’t solved yet or introduce new methods to things we solved differently. More specifically, you will:

• Test and develop new methods leveraging operations research, machine learning, and/or rules-based models.

• Suggest, collect and align requirements and contribute to an effective feature roadmap.

• Help develop new algorithms in cooperation with the algorithm development team.

• Moreover, you will actively participate in ongoing projects, strategizing what existing or new solutions may be best for our clients and prospects, offering you a taste of working at the intersection of strategy consultancy and algorithm development.

What you’ll bring to the team

You love exploring the unknown and introducing new methods to our current offering. However, algorithm development revolves just as much around client contact as writing code for you. With your current knowledge and the freedom to experiment your heart out, you can’t wait to impress us! Furthermore, we are looking for someone who:

• Is currently pursuing an M.S. in Operations Research, Econometrics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.

• Knows how to code in Javascript, Python, or an equivalent language.

• Preferably has experience with integer and linear programming.

• Preferably has experience with APIs, HTTP requests, etc. (Not a requirement, but definitely an advantage).

• Has excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in English.
