 Humana's Gulf South Region is seeking a Senior Data and Reporting Professional that generates ad hoc reports and regular datasets or report information for end-users utilizing system tools and database or data warehouse queries and scripts.

The Senior Data and Reporting Professional:

  • Integrates data from multiple sources to produce requested or required data elements

  • Provide analysis and support to region operations and tracking of key metrics

  • Derive observations and insights from metrics to support and improve clinical operations

  • Conduct independent research necessary to fully understand and correctly utilize the required clinical data

  • Design, development, and deliver of operational reports, dashboards, and ad-hoc requests

  • Continually identify ways to improve and enhance current reports, increasing value and usability

  • Programs and maintains report forms and formats, information dashboards, canned reports and other end-user information portals or resources

  • May create reports based on business requests and understanding of needs and changes to operational processes

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3 or more years of experience in data reporting

  • Current Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including ability to link pivots to external data sources, creating pivot tables and summarizing data into reports and dashboards

  • Current Advanced SQL skills and ability to build code to query databases (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.) and understanding database structure and design

  • Experience and frequent use of tools such as Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, SAS EG or other systems for running analysis, automating processes, or creating dashboards, self-service tools, and data visualizations

  • Use of effective Data Visualization and Data Modeling techniques

  • Assist leadership in understanding the “story” contained within or behind the data/report

  • Ability to link to external data sources, pass-through queries, data structure and relationship design.

  • Comfortable working with big and complex data sets within large organizations and/or the analysis of healthcare data

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Team oriented, inquisitive and critical thinker

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple or competing priorities

  • Work hours: 8:00am-5:00pm Eastern Standard Time (7:00am- 4:00pm Central Standard) or 8:00am-5:00pm Central Standard

Preferred Qualifications

  • Highly desirable: Experience creating reports and pulling data from SAS Enterprise Guide

  • Experience in health insurance industry or health care sector with authorization or claims data

  • Ability to see trends and provide advice regarding root cause(s) of any trend (positive and negative)

  • Ability to interview business owners to define the need/problem/desire of a request and understand how best to fill the request to drive value.

  • Proficiency in Python, Azure Synapse Analytics, R, SSRS, Data Bricks, or other data software/systems

  • Experience in a system analytics or data warehousing environment

  • Interest in future leadership position and growth opportunities

  • Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$73,400 - $100,100 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
