Role Summary:
Cigna’s International Healthcare Data & Analytics team is dedicated to delivering analytic products that enable data-driven decision making, improve business processes and deliver value to our internal and external stakeholders and demonstrate that value.
Examples of analytic products include descriptive reporting & dashboards, risk models, predictive models, machine learning (ML) solutions for optimization and automation and APIs and data services.
We are building a team of strong leaders to own the shaping and delivery of analytics products and solutions across subject domains within International Healthcare.
The ideal candidate will work on business intelligence and visualization projects, implement predictive analytics solutions, as well as support our teams’ need to scale insights delivery as rapidly and successfully as possible.
The product owner will partner across business stakeholders and technical specialists (engineers, data scientists, subject matter experts) to create the roadmap of analytics products for their domain and understand the business impact and priority of their domain's analytic solutions.
The product owner will collaborate with business units across the organization to identify needs, define and deliver analytical solutions, and provide key insights with actionable recommendations. The product owner must be resourceful and passionate; someone who can jump into details to figure out the business and operational problems and who has the technical, communication, and data skills to find, design, and build better solutions.
The product owner will play a key role in evolving our reporting, analytics, and insights capabilities across the organization. The right candidate will drive the delivery of the creation of analytics products in an extensible manner for deployment across multiple countries and regions. To accomplish this, you must have a product focused mindset and possess the energy and creative drive to effectively lead a team of analytics professionals (across business analytics, data science, and engineering).
Responsibilities:
- Customer-centric focus: Understand the needs of all stakeholders surrounding your domain / product
- Dedicated to continually building your domain expertise
- Develop the solutions and automations roadmap and prioritize features and projects based on customer, stakeholder, and business impact.
- Communicate effectively so all stakeholders understand the direction and vision for the domain and are aligned.
- Manage feature backlogs in partnership with the business owners, engineering, data scientists, BI team, and key stakeholders
- Proactively engage with all areas of the organization to identify interdependencies, mutually beneficial goals, and influencing leadership.
- Set up scalable and reliable ways to measure success and mechanisms to detect issues before they become risks.
- Evolve the way the business thinks about analytics and show how analytics can create substantial value for our customers and clients and showcase the value creation
- Build and design solutions that can be leveraged by multiple markets and business units
- Work with the business to ensure the adoption of your product and solutions across the business
- Be a true product owner, being accountable for every aspect of your domain, from delivering quality features, ensuring performance, security, scalability and responsiveness to users’ needs.
Actively participates in team and program ceremonies (e.g. Daily Stand-up, Iteration Planning, Iteration Review, PI Planning, etc.) - Creates User Stories and Acceptance Criteria, ensuring stories clearly communicate stakeholder needs to the development team; work with team to clarify stories as necessary
- Refines and Prioritizes User Story Backlog
- Collaborates with Product Managers to ensure their prioritization is reflected in the team’s backlog
- Partners with the Scrum Masters, while being the voice of the customer as well as a collaborative team member
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Experience with feature delivery and trade offs of a product
- 8+ years of experience in technical product or program management, business development or technology
- Experience with end to end product delivery
- Experience overseeing roadmap strategy and definition
- Proven product management within a creative, technology, analytics and/or operations environment.
- Experience creating roadmaps, and translating solutions into detailed user stories and managing a story backlog
- Strong understanding of Agile development processes and best practices
- Strong user experience/design sense, with a record of building great products
- Excellent executive communication skills and corporate agility
- Strong analytical capabilities and experience
- Math, Computer science or related technical background + willingness to dive into technology details
- Strong foundational skills with analytics software such as Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik, SQL, SAS, Python and/or R
- Experience in digital and marketing analytics enabling automation, top of the funnel growth and cost per acquisition optimization
- Experience with healthcare, health insurance, and healthcare systems is a bonus
