The Axial Programme will be powered by S/4HANA a new ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system which will be implemented right across the organisation and will provide our business with standardised processes, enhanced financial management, common data and real time reporting, transforming the way we work through our entire supply chain - from bench to patient.

The new system will be used by more than 20,000 employees daily, is foundational to all AZ entities and is central to most core business processes.  This is a once in a generation programme for AstraZeneca and will shape our ways of working globally for many years to come.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Power BI Developer with 4 to 5 years of experience in designing, developing, and deploying business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data modelling, DAX, Power Query, and dashboard/report creation. Experience or knowledge of LeanIX is a significant advantage.

What you’ll do

• Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI based on business requirements.

• Build and optimize data models (Star/Snowflake schema) for efficient reporting and analysis.

• Write complex DAX expressions for calculated measures and columns.

• Connect to various data sources including SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, and APIs.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyze reporting needs and deliver actionable insights.

• Maintain and publish reports via Power BI Service, including row-level security and scheduled refreshes.

• Document technical designs, report specifications, and metadata.

• Support performance tuning, troubleshooting, and end-user training.

• Work closely with data engineering and architecture teams to ensure clean and reliable data.

• Leverage LeanIX (if applicable) for IT landscape documentation and architecture insights to align reporting with enterprise architecture standards.

Essential for the role

• 4 to 5 years of professional experience with Power BI.

• Strong knowledge of Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, Power Query (M Language), and data modelling best practices.

• Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL.

• Experience in working with large datasets and optimizing performance.

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Good communication skills to interact with business and technical teams

Desirable for the role

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.

• Working knowledge or exposure to LeanIX for enterprise architecture mapping and integration.

• Experience with other reporting/analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, SSRS) is a plus.

• Familiarity with Azure Data Services, Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate).

• Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
