Our Data Engineers build tools and workflows to make customer onboarding smoother, faster, and more accurate. We work behind the scenes to make our customers successful on day one using ServiceTitan to run their business. We sit at the intersection of engineering and professional services, supporting customer-facing Titans with custom ETL tools and validation frameworks. You’ll be joining a team of engineers who care about clean code, quality of life for our internal stakeholders, and the success of our customers. Our team works on generalized ETL solutions used thousands of times each month, as well as directly on customer data to fit the unique needs of their businesses.

ServiceTitan is looking for a Data Engineer to join our team. Strong candidates will have a solid command of SQL, experience in ETL operations for transactional data, and an understanding of other tools common to ETL workflows, including Python, in addition to very strong analytical and critical thinking skills. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the on-time and accurate delivery of data for customers' adoption of ServiceTitan, while contributing to the overall improvement of our customers’ data experience through the development of new tooling and automations.

What you'll do:

• Build and maintain internal data and ETL tools that transform, validate, and import customer data.

• Write clean, maintainable code (mostly in T-SQL, with some C#, Python)

• Work in SQL Server production environments to prepare customers’ data during implementation to make them successful on day one when they go live

• Collaborate with Data Quality Analysts, Implementation Consultants, and Customer Success Managers to understand the real-world data problems our customers face

• Contribute to bug fixes, refactoring, CICD, and the general improvement of our ETL pipelines, workflows, and systems

What you'll need:

• 1–3 years of professional experience writing SQL queries (bonus points for SQL Server + T-SQL)

• Advanced SQL knowledge, including query optimization, complex joins, and window functions

• Proficiency in a high-level programming language (e.g., C#, Python, Java)

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Solid understanding of database and data modeling concepts

• A drive to solve real-world problems and improve customer experience through great tooling

• Eagerness to build production-ready software that makes a real impact

Bonus points for:

• Experience with distributed compute frameworks (e.g., Spark, Kubernetes)

• Familiarity with interacting with REST APIs

• Exposure to DevOps tools and workflows like Docker, GitHub Actions, and TeamCity

• Experience in professional services or a vertical SaaS environment
