In order to support Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a

System Engineer (d/f/m)

in our technology projects applying AI algorithms to electronic warfare functions.

We design and integrate airborne electronic reconnaissance and self-protection systems and supervise the development through the entire life cycle. As a competence driven organisation we are involved in a wide range of programmes such as TORNADO, EF, FCAS, Remote Carrier etc. and benefit from our intense operational experience of the Tornado Defensive Aids System. If you are interested in system engineering, integration and management with a strong operational mission focus we can offer a very interesting and challenging field of technology such as RF/EO Systems, Radar Technology, Radar and Missile Warner systems, Sensor Fusion & Sensor Management as well as RF and IR counter measure techniques.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Execution of trade-offs for the selection of suitable AI algorithms

• Integration and evaluation of AI Algorithms in training and testing environments 

• Contribute to cross-functional teams as AI focal point for  the electronic warfare department 

• document technical activities and provide input to TRL reviews

• Support to system integration activities

Desired skills and qualifications

• Deep Learning Expertise:
  - Experience in developing and implementing deep learning models.
  - Proficiency in deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Jax.
  - Understanding of neural network architectures and their applications.

• Programming Skills:
  - Python and relevant libraries (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn).
  - Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.

• Research and Technology Experience:
  - Conducting research and contributing to technological advancements in the field of deep learning.
  - Publishing research papers, presenting at conferences, or contributing to open-source projects.

• Edge Computing Knowledge:
  - Experience with edge computing frameworks and tools.
  - Understanding of edge computing principles and their application in deploying machine learning models.

Optional Experience in:

• Reinforcement Learning:
  - Experience with reinforcement learning frameworks and algorithms.
  - Understanding of how to apply reinforcement learning to solve complex problems.

• Data Science Experience:
  - Extensive knowledge of data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation techniques.
  - Experience with data visualization tools and libraries (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly).
  - Familiarity with statistical analysis and machine learning algorithms.

• Distributed Computing:
  - Experience in deploying and managing distributed machine learning workloads.
  - Knowledge of distributed computing frameworks such as Kubernetes or Ray.
