The Opportunity

What You’ll Contribute

• Supporting Oracle, MySQL, and other database systems in a 24 x 7 environment 


• On-call responsibilities (rotation) to support production systems 


• Planning, implementing and managing the physical databases of mission critical OLTP and Decision Support systems Capacity planning to determine future storage needs
• Monitoring and improving database and application performance


• Providing development and tuning support to implementation teams


• Troubleshooting production performance issues


• Developing processes and procedures to enhance the stability and performance of database environment and our level of support to our client teams


• Ensuring that backup, restore and recovery procedures are implemented and followed

• Will require to work with internal and external clients to resolve issues.


• Should be able to write shell script and python script.
• Will require to be on call as well as work during outside normal business hours.


• No travel as part of job but minimal travel might be needed for systems and technologies training as needed.

• Working days would be Friday to Tuesday fixed shift.

What We’re Seeking

• BS in MIS or Computer Science.
• Database Administration experience.
• Strong SQL knowledge.

• Strong troubleshooting skills.


• Adaptable to new technology.
• Oracle/MySQL/SQL Server Certifications preferred.
• Must have Operational DBA Experience with Oracle 11G/12C/18C/19C RAC/ASM 5+ years and extensive experience with Oracle.

• Has some Operational DBA Experience with MySQL.


• Experience in applying Oracle patches to Oracle RAC.


• Operational experience with Unix/Linux, Oracle Data Guard, Golden Gate.


• Knowledge Backup/Recovery.


• Understanding of OEM Grid Control.

• Knowledge of Unix Shell and writing scripts to automate operational DB tasks.
• Experience with SQL Server, MySQL, Vertica, Netezza, Couchbase, and MongoDB would be a plus.
• Working days would be Friday to Tuesday fixed shift.
