Data Scientist

This position is contingent upon contract award.

The Data Scientist will lead a multidisciplinary team in delivering advanced analytics and data driven solutions to U.S. Army customers. This role combines technical expertise, strategic leadership, and stakeholder engagement to advance data science capabilities at an enterprise scale. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex data science projects, mentoring teams, and delivering impactful insights to technical and nontechnical audiences.

Strategic Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, data engineers, and analysts, ensuring high-quality deliverables and fostering a culture of innovation. Serve as the primary point of contact for Army customers, acting as a trusted advisor and program innovator.

Digital Transformation and Data Strategy: Advise on digital transformation initiatives to build and scale data science capabilities across the enterprise. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business processes, analytical requirements, and key data elements, aligning solutions with mission objectives.

Advanced Data Science Solutions: Design and implement techniques to integrate, consolidate, and structure data for advanced analytical use, enabling actionable insights. Utilize big data technologies to process and analyze large datasets efficiently. Drive the development of predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and statistical analyses to address complex challenges.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Engage with technical and nontechnical stakeholders to communicate findings, develop actionable recommendations, and align on project goals. Prepare and deliver briefing packages and visualizations to articulate complex ideas to senior Army leadership and nontechnical audiences.

Agile Project Management: Lead Agile project management efforts, ensuring milestones are met and resources are efficiently allocated. Drive continuous improvement in data science workflows and methodologies.

Education and Requirements:

Senior Level

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, public policy, or a related field.
• 7+ Years experience in data science or a related advanced analytics field.
• Certified Data Scientist (CDS) or equivalent certification to demonstrate expertise in advanced analytics.

Journeyman Level

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, public policy, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in data analysis, data science, or a related field.
• AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty (or equivalent certification).

Current and active Secret security clearance

Location flexible with preference to Fort Belvoir or Fort Gregg-Adams
