Associate Director of Data Operations
Athens, GR
GWI
On-demand consumer research powered by GWI. Understand your audience in an instant with global consumer data at your fingertips.
Sounds great, what will I be doing? 🤔
As our Associate Director of Data Ops you’ll manage two teams that oversee the quality and integrity of our data throughout the pipeline. You will manage the team's efforts in processing data from various consumer surveys, ensuring its accuracy and loading it to our customer platform.
Beyond day-to-day management, you’ll drive improvements in tooling, documentation, and workflows while leading cross-team initiatives. You’ll report to senior leadership within the Data Org and collaborate closely with colleagues across Data & ML Automations, Research, Engineering, and Product to support the delivery of our core offerings
It’s also fun; shaking things up is what working for a growing company is all about. So you’ll need to be flexible, comfortable with continuous change, and working in a high-tempo environment as we grow.
What do I need to bring with me? 🧳
You’ll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires. You don't have to tick all the boxes right away; the important thing is that you’re willing to learn. Here’s what the team will be looking for:
👉 Proven team leading/management experience, preferably within Data Operations or similar function 👉 An appreciation for data quality, attention to detail, and thoughtful documentation👉 Experience working with structured data pipelines in a collaborative team-based environment using shared code, tools, and workflows
👉 Demonstrable experience using Python/SQL to manipulate and transform data
👉 A collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to team culture and shared goals 👉 Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical topics clearly and contribute to an open, supportive team culture 👉 An understanding of how your team’s work supports broader business goals, and the ability to apply that perspective to your projects
Equally important is attitude. We want people who think big (to make an impact), ask why (to find a better way), and show respect (to everyone, at every level, all the time). Those are our values, exemplified by our leadership team, and they’re a big part of what we’re looking for in you.
Interview steps 👟
👉 Preliminary phone call with the Talent Team (no video required) 👉 First video interview with the hiring managers 👉 Second (and final*) video interview with the hiring panel, often including a presentation, followed by a values conversation with members of the wider GWI community.*Don’t be alarmed if there are other stages in the process, it’s all part of the plan for some of our roles.
