Job Description
The R&D Data and AI Convergence organization aims to revolutionize AbbVie's R&D pipeline by leveraging data and AI to expedite the development of new and improved medicines for patients. This role will focus on supporting initiatives that drive impact leveraging AbbVie’s R&D framework, emphasizing cross-functional collaboration and leadership in program management. The Associate Director will collaborate with scientists, clinicians, study teams, data scientists, and AI specialists to lead projects involving AI solutions to ensure impactful contributions to AbbVie’s pipeline.
Responsibilities:
- Drive strategy and execution of AI and non-AI solutions to help support the pipeline.
- The role involves providing program management leadership across multiple projects aligned with strategic objectives. Projects range from patient focused initiatives such as the AbbVie Research Collaborative to AI solutions
- Develop integrated project plans, resource projections, risk plans, and effectiveness metrics for each initiative.
- Support resource allocation, budget management, and project deliverables to achieve desired outcomes
- Support functional teams in implementing change management processes as an output of the respective initiatives
- Stay informed about emerging AI methodologies to support strategic decision making.
- Report to a director level and manage matrix teams.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in science or data-related fields; a Master's degree in quantitative science is preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in clinical development, data analytics, and AI applications.
- Strong understanding of the drug development process and the use of data for decision-making.
- Experience leading or participating in AI projects within clinical or biomedical domains a plus
- Experience supporting project management within complex multidisciplinary teams
- Strong interpersonal and good communication skills for effective cross functional collaboration
- Excellent understanding of the changing pharmaceutical, regulatory, and technology environment.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
