About the role:

We’re looking for someone from maritime domain to join our team and help us dive into maritime data from a variety of sources. As a Maritime Data Analyst, you’ll be working closely with our Data team to keep our application database up-to-date, research maritime regulations, and ensure our clients stay compliant. 

NOTE: This position is permanently remote.

What you will do:

  • Collaborate with the Data team to research and analyse maritime data from various sources.
  • Maintain and update the database for a commercial product in the maritime domain as part of the data team.
  • Research maritime regulatory changes to support customers with compliance-related information.
  • Deliver analysis and tasks by adhering to deadlines and milestones.
  • Take ownership of the quality and reliability of data.
  • Identify discrepancies in data proactively and provide necessary corrections.
  • Work closely with Product and technical teams.
  • Continuously improve technical and analytical skills as required by tasks.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • 2-5 years of industry experience as a maritime professional, either onboard as a navigating officer, onshore with port services or maritime software domain.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics.
  • Good understanding of port clearance activities and ship operations
  • Proficient in MS Office tools.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
  • Proactive and eager to get things done.
  • Experience in creating quality documentation based on analysis.
  • Professional proficiency in English – spoken and written.

Nice to have:

  • Keen interest in staying abreast of maritime rules and regulations.
  • Previous experience in data collection and management.
  • Interest towards digitalization of Maritime industry
  • Experience with SQL and GraphQL is beneficial but not mandatory
  • Interest in learning programming and leveraging technology for task completion.
