Tech Lead Engineer (Remote)

Position Overview

At UP.Labs, we’re reimagining how software is built - by combining human creativity with the power of AI agents. Our platform runs on Azure, leverages the full stack of Microsoft DevOps tools (ADO), and is deeply integrated with Databricks, not just for data, but as a key AI enabler across the product. We’re not chasing trends - we’re building a new standard: software delivery at machine speed, guided by human judgment.
We’re looking for a Tech Lead to help us scale this AI-first model of engineering. You’ll lead a small team of 3–5 engineers and a growing network of AI agents and intelligent workflows that accelerate every aspect of the software lifecycle—from architecture to code generation, testing, and deployment. You’ll be responsible for balancing velocity with quality, and automation with intentional design.

Responsibilities

• Lead a hybrid team of human engineers and AI agents to deliver features at speed and scale
• Architect solutions across our SaaS stack—React, Python, Azure—with a focus on modularity, automation, and observability
• Orchestrate intelligent workflows using Azure DevOps, integrated LLM tools, and agent pipelines for build, test, and deploy
• Collaborate with Product and Data teams to define success criteria, system interfaces, and AI involvement across use cases

Qualifications and Requirements

• Proven 2+ years experience leading engineering teams in a high-growth SaaS environment
• 8+ years working in the software development industry
• Proficiency in Python, React, and designing systems on Azure
• Strong understanding of Azure DevOps (ADO) workflows, test automation, and deployment pipelines
• Experience working with LLMs and AI tooling in a production setting (prompting, chaining, evaluation)
• A systems mindset—able to architect reusable components and orchestrate complex flows, not just individual features
• Passion for performance, automation, developer experience, and AI ethics

Preferred skills

• Background in revenue management, pricing science, or data-driven product design
• Experience leading DevOps or platform initiatives in AI-enabled teams
• Familiarity with agent orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, AutoGen, or similar)
• Insight into the emerging capabilities of Databricks AI and how to apply them practically
