Position Summary:
The Capital Data and Systems Leader will be responsible for overseeing the management, integration, and optimization of capital data systems across the organization. This role will ensure that data related to capital expenditures, assets, and investments are accurately captured, stored, and analyzed to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both accounting and information technology, with a proven track record of leading data management projects and systems integration.

The Role:
Data Management and Integration:
Ensure accurate and timely data collection, storage, and retrieval processes.
Integrate data from multiple sources to provide comprehensive views of capital budget, forecasts, authorizations, commitments, and expenditures.
Oversee and manage the capital expenditure budget, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and financial targets.
Develop and maintain comprehensive cost control processes for capital projects, including budget forecasting, variance analysis, and cost tracking.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to establish accurate project budgets and timelines.
Audit project expenditures throughout the lifecycle, identifying potential cost overruns or savings opportunities and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Conduct regular financial reviews and reporting to senior management, providing insights into project performance and financial implications.
Systems Leadership:
Manage capital project software and tools for capital projects.
Work with internal stakeholders to ensure systems are secure and optimized for performance.
Develop and enforce data governance policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate records of capital expenditures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Continuously improve cost control procedures and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
The Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in data management, systems integration, or a related role within a financial or capital-intensive industry.
- Strong knowledge of capital expenditure processes, asset management, and investment tracking.
- Proficiency in data management and analysis tools (e.g.Excel, BI tools, etc.).
- Experience with financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) or data management (e.g., CDMP).
- Experience with cloud-based data solutions and data warehousing.
- Familiarity with machine learning and predictive analytics.
