What Application Development & Maintenance contributes to Cardinal Health
As an Email Marketing Engineer (in Application Development & Maintenance), you will take a lead role in driving the technical strategy for email marketing campaigns. You will manage the full lifecycle of email marketing, from conceptualization and design to implementation and performance optimization. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the creation of responsive, highly optimized email templates, managing complex email campaign workflows, and leading efforts to leverage advanced data analytics to continuously improve campaign outcomes.

Location - Fully remote (work from home)

Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Strategy Development: Take ownership of the end-to-end email marketing process, including conceptualization, implementation, optimization, and reporting. Lead cross-functional teams, providing mentorship to junior email engineers, designers, and marketing professionals. Collaborate with senior marketing stakeholders to define key metrics, KPIs, and campaign goals. Own the optimization strategy for email campaigns, driving improvements across all areas of performance (open rates, CTR, conversions).
  • Email Template & Campaign Development: Design and develop highly responsive, personalized email templates using advanced HTML, CSS, and JavaScript that ensure compatibility across all devices and email clients. Create advanced dynamic email content and incorporate real-time personalization strategies to engage subscribers at scale. Develop and maintain complex email automation workflows, integrating seamlessly with CRM and other marketing systems. Oversee and improve email deliverability strategies to ensure high inbox placement rates across regions and ISPs.
  • Continuous Learning & Leadership: Stay at the forefront of email marketing trends, tools, and best practices, including emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, and machine learning. Lead internal training sessions to upskill the marketing and development teams on new tools and methodologies.
  • Data Analytics & Reporting: Leverage BigQuery, Power BI, and Looker to analyze and report on email campaign performance, extracting actionable insights to improve future campaigns. Build distribution lists, segment audiences, and recommend optimization strategies based on campaign data and customer behaviors. Troubleshoot any performance or tracking issues that arise during campaign execution.


Qualifications

  • Experience working in a senior-level role with a demonstrated ability to manage and scale email marketing operations, highly preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will be proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Net-Results (an email marketing platform), with the ability to analyze and improve email campaign performance using data tools such as BigQuery, Power BI, and Looker.
  • Ability to conduct A/B tests and optimize email content to improve key performance metrics (open rates, CTR, conversions), highly preferred.
  • Strong experience with email testing tools (e.g., Litmus, Email on Acid) to ensure compatibility and performance across platforms, preferred.

  • Experience implementing and analyzing tracking mechanisms (e.g., UTM parameters, tracking pixels) to assess campaign performance, preferred.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (marketing, design, data, etc.), required
  • Ability to manage multiple campaigns and projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and quality is maintained.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Anticipated Pay Range $93,500.00 - 123,600.00 USD
