Director, Global Supply Chain Data Science and Analytics

Cytokinetics is a late-stage, specialty cardiovascular biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing and commercializing first-in-class muscle activators and next-in-class muscle inhibitors as potential treatments for debilitating diseases in which cardiac muscle performance is compromised. As a leader in muscle biology and the mechanics of muscle performance, the company is developing small molecule drug candidates specifically engineered to impact myocardial muscle function and contractility.

As the Director, Global Supply Chain & Analytics, you will be responsible for assisting the Supply Chain Organization and its leaders in making data-driven decisions and optimizing supply chain operations within the pharmaceutical industry. This individual will leverage advanced analytics, AI, and industry knowledge to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and resilience of the global pharmaceutical supply chain. This role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, logistics, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to improve forecasting, inventory management, and overall supply chain performance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Analytics Strategy & Supply Chain Optimization

• Lead the development and implementation of analytics strategies to optimize supply chain & technical operations processes in the pharmaceutical industry.

• Provide strategic insights that help the organization streamline operations, reduce costs, and improve the flow of materials from manufacturing to distribution.

• Analyze large datasets from various sources (inventory management systems, production data, distribution networks) to uncover inefficiencies and bottlenecks in the supply chain.

• Support and enable the development of KPIs in collaboration with business and functional leaders to measure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and risk management within the pharmaceutical supply chain.

2. Data Integrity, Governance & Security

• Ensure data integrity, governance, and security within supply chain analytics platforms.

• Lead the integration and implementation of advanced analytics tools, systems, and platforms to streamline supply chain operations.

• Lead Master Data Management Program for Supply Chain

3. Advanced Analytics & Predictive Modeling

• Develop and deploy predictive and prescriptive models to improve demand forecasting, inventory management, production scheduling, and distribution planning.

• Implement and utilize advanced analytics techniques such as machine learning, statistical modeling, simulation, and optimization to enhance decision-making and operational performance.

• Develop and enhance forecasting models to predict demand and supply fluctuations, ensuring timely availability of pharmaceutical products while minimizing excess inventory.

4. Risk Management & External Analysis

• Analyze external factors such as market trends, regulatory changes, and supply disruptions to inform proactive risk management strategies.

• Lead initiatives to monitor and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, ensuring continuity of supply for critical products.

5. AI & Technology Adoption

• Drive AI adoption in supply chain and operations, including deployment and best practices.

• Look for opportunities to turn business needs into AI solutions and explain them clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

• Oversee AI supply chain projects from start to finish, ensuring successful implementation and optimization.

6. Project Management & Innovation

• Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and the ability to manage both long-term strategies and short-term tactical improvements.

• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments impacting the pharmaceutical supply chain, and drive innovation initiatives to capitalize on opportunities for process optimization and differentiation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Data Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.

• Master Data Management Expertise

• Master’s degree or MBA preferred, with additional certifications in supply chain or data analytics (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma, PMP).

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in supply chain analytics, data science, or operations, with at least 3 years in the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector.

• Proven experience in leading analytics-driven projects that improve supply chain performance.

• Experience working with supply chain management software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).

• Familiarity with pharmaceutical supply chain regulations and industry best practices.

• Proven leadership abilities, with a demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate teams, foster a culture of collaboration and innovation, and drive results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
