Johnson Brothers and Prestige Beverage Group are seeking a Senior Manager, Data & Analytics to lead our data and business intelligence strategy. This leadership role will drive enterprise-wide reporting and analytics, translating complex data into actionable insights that empower finance, sales, and operations teams. As the leader of a team of associates and contractors, you will mentor, guide, and inspire your team to deliver high-impact reporting solutions that drive strategic decision-making. Working at the intersection of technology and business, you will partner closely with stakeholders to design scalable data solutions, enhance performance metrics, and promote a culture of data-driven innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and shape the analytics vision: Collaborate with business and IT leaders to establish a long-term Power BI reporting and analytics strategy.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team: Provide mentorship, direction, and oversight to associates and contractors, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Drive strategic execution: Translate Power BI reporting needs into a well-defined roadmap, ensuring timely delivery of insights.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with finance, sales, and operations teams to align and prioritize analytics solutions with business goals.
- Establish data governance best practices: Ensure consistency, reliability, and scalability of data used in reports and dashboards.
- Optimize performance and scalability: Design Power BI dashboards with a focus on usability, efficiency, and adaptability to meet evolving business needs.
- Champion business intelligence adoption: Mentor teams on best practices, build a community of BI users, and foster innovation in analytics.
- Explore AI & ML integration: Partner with analytics leaders to identify opportunities for AI/ML in reporting automation and trend forecasting.
- Ensure stakeholder engagement: Develop and manage a structured BI communication plan to keep key stakeholders informed and involved.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS, CIS, Business Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 7 years of experience leading IT, analytics, or BI teams, with a focus on Power BI solutions.
- Deep expertise in Microsoft Power BI, Azure Cloud Data Storage, MS SQL, and Synapse BI tooling. Microsoft Fabric experience is a plus.
- Strategic business acumen—Understanding of distributor models (CPG, retail, beverage alcohol) and their operational analytics needs.
Required Competencies
- Expertise in Agile & Waterfall methodologies, with experience managing BI projects in MS DevOps or Jira environments.
- Strong analytical mindset: Ability to translate complex data into compelling narratives that drive business decisions.
- Leadership in business intelligence adoption: Experience mentoring teams and fostering a data-driven culture.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement: Ability to socialize insights and align analytics with executive priorities.
- Continuous improvement mindset: Focused on evolving BI capabilities to meet changing business needs.
Desired Skills
- Demonstrated track record of delivering on multiple projects simultaneously, while managing the demands of daily support.
- Ability to prioritize multiple workloads in a high pace environment.
- Strong customer service skills and staff management experience.
- Ability to develop and monitor progress of projects, along with good organizational, project management, team building, and people leadership skills.
- Ability to facilitate problem-solving technical and business stakeholders with varying needs and priorities, and to communicate well with users, technical staff, and senior management.
- Ability to work with a range of technical staff to develop joint solutions.
Location: Preference for candidates based in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, with an expectation of three days per week in the office.
The expected pay range for this role is $96,594 - $160,590. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity, union status (where applicable) and alignment with market data.
