Job Summary

As part of the Group IT – Master Data & Analytics team, the Data Engineer position plays a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining Business Intelligence (BI) solutions and the overall architecture within the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) environment. This global role involves close collaboration with team members to conduct technical analysis, produce architectural documentation, and implement high-quality, scalable solutions.

The responsibilities include full-cycle solution development—from design and data modeling to development, unit testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, a solid foundation in data architecture and modeling, and hands-on experience with modern cloud platforms.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement effective BI solutions and architecture in collaboration with the BI Projects & Products team, ensuring alignment with business needs and technical/functional specifications.
• Work closely with Data Analysts, Application Developers, Report Developers, Architects, Product Managers, and other stakeholders to ensure visibility and transparency across the data layer and associated pipelines.
• Identify and drive opportunities to leverage data for innovative, value-adding solutions.
• Apply and uphold technical standards, best practices, and IS implementation guidelines within the BI development team.
• Maintain and update BI solutions within scope, including documentation, source code, application versions, and technical components.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that impact the performance or operation of BI solutions.
• Ensure optimal performance of BI solutions in partnership with Operations teams.
• Provide support to the BI Projects & Products team during all testing phases, including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing.
• Implement technical solutions that comply with relevant regulations, laws, and internal procedures, in coordination with legal and compliance departments.
• Deliver all required technical documentation and knowledge transfer to Operations teams for successful BI solution deployment and support.
• Set up, administer, and maintain BI technical environments (Development, UAT, Production) in close collaboration with Operations.
• Ensure BI solutions are deployed and maintained in alignment with defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Oversee the implementation of usage monitoring tools and key performance indicators to track and report on BI solution effectiveness, in collaboration with the BI Projects & Products team.

Core Competencies and Requirements

Education:

• Advanced education in Engineering or IT

Work Experience:

• Experience in building and deploying applications in Azure BI Stack (AzureDB, SQL Server, Data Lake, Blob Storage, CosmosDB, Event Hub, Stream Analytics, Azure Function, Power BI, etc.)

Technical Skills:

• Experienced in BI, Analytics, and Data Management
• Proficient in BI technologies and data warehousing, familiar with Azure Cloud and ETL tools
• Skilled in SQL, SparkSQL, PySpark, and Python; interested in Machine Learning
• Experienced in cloud data migration and DevOps
• Knowledgeable in BI methodologies and data governance
• Strong problem-solver aligning business needs with tech solutions
