How you will make an impact:

The Senior Manager, Data Strategy, R&D is a multi-faceted & unique role which offers an unparalleled opportunity to shape the future of our data strategy. This is a senior individual contributor role bringing a blend of deep technical knowledge alongside sharp business acumen. This role will be pivotal in defining the future direction of the data team and our portfolio bets. Ideally suited to somebody who has broad aptitudes and can work independently at first to craft projects, then bring on the resources to execute. 

Our Cordella system enables a unique and extremely rich dataset from which to curate real, impactful insights which will assist clinicians in the treatment of patients. The overall aim will be to enhance the quality of life for all our patients and enable access by aiding the clinical team to better manage these patients. The Data Team has a broad mandate to improve; features for external users to ease use and insights, clinical insights & algorithms, internal business metrics and our understanding of the business & the disease.  

This is a senior role in a new and rapidly growing team, so there is a lot of scope to contribute and be a large voice in shaping its future.

  • Contribute to, and aid definition & execution, of the IHFM Data strategy

  • Portfolio management of Data projects. Aid in definition, prioritization & business case creation for projects. Work alongside the technical teams to refine their project proposals.

  • Keep abreast & disseminate new data techniques & technology stack that could aid our operations. Perform initial evaluations or proof of concepts for new concepts and projects proposals

  • Develop/explore new proof of concept use cases for AI/ML features

  • Collaborate & contribute across Data Engineering, Data Science & Data Analytics

  • Digest & disseminate medical AI/ML regulation with respect to algorithms and testing

  • Working alongside the Data Leadership, to mentor and guide the other members of the team. Ensure high levels of technical proficiency and skill development.

  • Contribute to the teams’ processes & culture (Defining best practices, portfolio/concept reviews, attending code reviews etc.)

  • Demonstrate good data governance practices and approaches equivalent to the risks and needs of the team. Contribute to strong governance processes.

  • Ensure the highest levels of confidentiality and sensitivity for dealing with Patient Health Information [PHI]

What you'll need (Required):

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent in in related field with 10 years of previous related experience

  • Experience in architecting, developing and deploying business intelligence, analytics and reporting solutions to internal and external stakeholder

  • Previous hands-on knowledge of Data Science, Data Engineering or Data Analytics

  • Experience in implementing business & technical strategies

  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS EC2, S3, Lambda, etc.)

What else we look for (Preferred):

  • Experience with Algorithm development, AI/ML

  • Experience interfacing and influencing stakeholders in complex organizations with multiple BUs and global cross-functional groups including the ability to gain resolutions and build consensus with key stakeholders in challenging situations

  • Proven successful project management skills

  • Proven expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, business intelligence and analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Python)

  • Excellent documentation and communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives

  • Recognized as an expert in own area with specialized depth and breadth of expertise within area of work in the organization

  • Expert understanding of quantitative methodologies, techniques and tools to develop best in class analytic solutions

  • Understanding of industry trends as it relates to sales and marketing optimization and data analytics

  • Strict attention to detail

  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment

  • Interacts with team members and peer managers, normally involving matters between cross-functional teams and the company; often leads a cooperative effort among members of a project team

  • Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control

For Illinois (IL), the base pay range for this position is $136,000 to $192,000 (highly experienced). The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience).  Applications will be accepted while this position is posted on our Careers website.
