About the Role
Snapdocs is looking for a Senior Data Science Operations Specialist to lead high-impact projects at the intersection of data science, product operations, and automation. In this role, youāll own mission-critical initiatives within one of our Data Science Podsāguiding project teams, improving processes, and directly contributing to the performance of our machine learning systems.
Youāll operate with a high degree of autonomy and partner cross-functionally with teams across Data Science, Engineering, Customer Success, and Product. This is a hybrid role where youāll flex between individual contributor work and project leadership, helping us scale our ML-powered document processing capabilities.
What Youāll Do
Lead Projects & Mentor Others
- Serve as project lead within your DS Pod, managing timelines, coordinating team members, and driving toward clearly defined outcomes
- Own communication, training, and mentorship within your workstream
- Identify and resolve inefficiencies in workflows through collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders
Build & Improve ML Systems
- Use Snapdocs' internal tooling to build and refine models for document classification, annotation, and detection tasks
- Monitor QC dashboards, flag anomalies, and make iterative improvements
- Clean and process datasets to power model development, including historical document data
- Own tasks from start to finish, including model evaluation and post-deployment monitoring
Drive Automation & Scale
- Partner with internal stakeholders to scope and implement solutions that increase efficiency
- Take ownership of documentation, process improvement initiatives, and feedback loops to improve our ML tooling and operations
- Act as an internal expert on document classification and annotation best practices

- Someone who enjoys bridging the gap between data science, operations, and business impact
- Self-directed, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote-first environment
Qualifications
Required
- Previous experience at Snapdocs as a Product Operations Lead or Analyst (in good standing)
- Demonstrated success leading project work and training team members
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
Preferred
- Hands-on experience with SQL, Git, Python, and/or command line tools
- Comfortable making minor contributions to production repositories
- Experience with classification and annotation workflows
- Adept at process improvement, troubleshooting, and issue escalation
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive, self-starting work style
